My progress - By Month

Hey all, I thought it might be helpful to others, especially those starting out, if I posted exactly how my progress has happened. As you can see, the heavier I was, the faster the weight came off. And I have had some great months and not so great months, but it all tends to sort of balance out in a way. And I am happy I didn't lose TOO fast because I am more confident than ever that it can stay off. However, it didn't take near as long as I thought it would! But, I recently had a good month. From June 26th to today, I have lost 12 lbs! But as you can see, the previous (recent) months have been slow but steady!!! I think it's funny that early on, the two "maintain" weeks I had were Thanksgiving week and Christmas week!  Gee, wonder why!!!

I see we have very similar goals. I would like to get to 140lbs, currently I'm 167 and 5'8" How tall are you? Also, what do you have your calorie intake set at now, trying to break this plateau and need some advice. I was at 1200 plus my exercise calories, i switched it to 1280 base calories(1 1/2lbs/wk according to MFP) to see it that helped. Any advice would be appreciated.

That is awesome. What did you do for excersise? What is your daily menu like? I am walking 2.5 miles a day and eating 1200 + my excersise calories and I am not losing. What is your secret? I bought a new scale because I thought my old one was inacurate and the new one says I am 12 lbs heavier that I thought I was! :explode: I reset my ticker to 0 lbs lost so I can start over with a clean slate and an acurate scale but the darn thing is just now budging! :grumble: ANy help would be appreciated as I am losing hope and not weight! :brokenheart:

I am 5'5", so once I get to 135, I may decide to drop another 5 or 10..I will see how it looks. Because I work out too and do some lifting, so 135 may look better with muscles than 125 would look without. I am not going by the number so much...more how I look and feel.

Also, right now....on days I don't work out, I eat around 1400 calories and days I do work out, I eat around 1750-1800. I eat well! I burn a lot with my workouts though! I am not one to want to starve myself so I am very careful with my calories. Also, I didn't want to go to 1200 so soon because I want room to lower my calories when I hit more plateaus and I know the closer I get to my goal, it will get harder, so having that room to safely drop is important to me.

Thanks tam, that makes sense about the calories, maybe I will up that for now and see if that works. Obviously it works for you so I will give it a try.
I have the same thinking as you, want to be toned looking all over. I will have to wait and see about my final number as well.

LOL! Yep, my body tends to do that. I will have a plateau and then I will drop what SHOULD have been coming off the last 2 weeks!! It's kind of funny!

    Top 5 changes...hmmmm:

    1. Change your relationship with food (when you start to view it differently, it become easy to eat healthy and eat less)

2.Drink more water (I get no less than 72 ounces a day)

    3. Exercise WELL (do what you can and push yourself. You will soon find yourself addicted to the endorphins!)

    4. Eat WELL (Eat lots of fiber and lean protein and dairy to keep you satisfied and incorporate more fruits and veggies)

    5. Don't stress out. If you want to enjoy something once in awhile, enjoy it, then get back on track the next meal or day. Take it a week at a time.
