I am loving the fresh fruit that is available here in Brasil. Particularly the Manga Palmer and the papaya. Super flavorful, and soooo inexpensive! I bought neither of which in the 'States because they were always a disappointment … but here? Every week.
Also, the queijo minas fresca … which is a firm yet soft cheese, sort of akin to a pressed block of cottage cheese. Dee-lish-uss and one of my favorites for breakfast.
How about y'all? Anything that you are really enjoying?

Mangoes! We have a tree in our garden, so they are free and delicious! Can't beat that!0

This is going to sound weird, but I love the super crispy fried grasshoppers served with lime leaves and salt. I actually order them at a restaurant in Thailand, to the dismay of my American friends. But they taste like kettle chips, only better!:happy:0

I don't think I can even narrow it down. lol.
I take most advantage of the abundance of Greek yogurt (I might be a bit addicted, since I can't seem to go a day without it). But there are things that are also rare here, such as a certain type of greens that grow by the coast and I can normally only have in the Summer alongside grilled octopus or Mediterranean or Aegean fresh fish, and so naturally it's all I can think about the rest of the year. Also I love local fruit, which also seem to have very short seasons (mmm, figs). And another thing that is hard to come by, but on my list of favorites is some amazing farmer-made cheese that I once had from the inlaws island village. There are lots of good cheeses in Greece, but I really have to show some self-control, since cheese is my weakness. Oh, and island honey. My in-laws are from the "blue zone" island in Greece and the honey from there is AHMAZING!
Oh wait, I almost forgot my classic favorite, these fried little fishies (gavros), that you eat whole. I LOVE them! (I want to export the idea, so everyone can try these crispy little fishies, but I realize that most people are going to be as interested in eating whole little fishes as in eating wendy's fried grasshoppers! Oh fine, more for us! lol)0
