Hi everyone! My name is Molly. I am not new to MFP, I joined about a year ago and was doing well, but then life got in the way, you know how it goes. Anyway now I'm here to stay. I just had a gastric sleeve done last Thursday so it would be cool to meet other people that had WLS. I am 25 and have been overweight since high school basically, but then it really started it get out of control in college. I suffer from depression and anxiety and have hypothyroidism so that didn't help. So here I am! Looking forward to starting a healthier life!

Hi Molly!
My name is Jamie and I'm here for the same reason as you- to lose weight! As a college senior, I can absolutely relate to how stress, anxiety or school work can get in the way of a healthy diet and exercise routine. Anyways, if you are diligent about your goal weight, the weight will come off! Just be conscious of what you put in your body (measuring portion sizes/weight or calorie counting can help), and what you burn off.
Welcome to MFP! Good luck on your weight loss journey.

As a 44 yr old who medicated her problems with food for around 35 yrs my best advice is to deal with this. I am very thankful that WLS was not available to me when I was young because I had not dealt with my issues and would have immediately eaten my way around it. When life happens it won't matter if you have the sleeve- if you self medicate with food you will gain all the wt back and possibly more. When life happens now I pray and go to Mass, talk with a mentor, take a hot bath...but I do NOT eat. I deal with the problem. A friend died on Saturday night and Monday night the HS age child of a friend died. I grieve and pray. I will not medicate my grief with food. I will deal with everything that Life throws my way but I am done wasting my Life medicating with food that only brought me more misery. Good Luck and feel free to look at my diary it is open, sleeved 11-20-13, down 63 lbs0

Feel free to add me as a friend if you are willing to help not to just gain friend numbers.
I am 36 and a mother of one and wife to an amazing husband. I am not considered overweight, but still have a pouch from being pregnant 3 years ago and well enjoy beer and wine ;-)
STUPID ABS! lol
I try to workout between 4 to 6 times a week. I am doing the Bikini Body Mommy 90 Day Challenge right now. I have done Insanity and T25 Alpha & Beta. I tend to get board with a workout so I have to change it up or I stop doing it. I eat healthy but still will not resist enjoying the good things in life.
I have a very F'ed up sense of humor and I try to help others. Sometimes people think I am a "know it all" but I only can tell you what has worked for me and my past experiences. I love to learn from others and need inspiration as much as I try to give it.
Why I want to get in shape
I have a heart condition (MVP - mitral valve prolapse). For most this never will bother them or even know they have it. Dr.s are 90% sure I will either have to have my valve replaced or fixed in a few years. So the stronger my heart the longer I can put it off. I want to be strong from my daughter and husband. I lost my mother at a young age (65) to heart issues in 2013. I am still not over her loss. I don't want either of them to lose me from something I might have control over.
I also want to look my best. Admit you feel sexier and are happier when you feel & look this way.0 -

Feel free to add me, check out my profile, it sums me up pretty good and will give you an idea of the support I can offer. I am possibly looking at WLS myself (on a waitlist just for the initial consult in Canada, could be 6 months before I even talk to someone, surgery could be as far as 2 years if that is a route I take)
Anyone can check out my profile and add me if they wish.0
