What's the fiber?

I really wish MFP calculated how much fiber you ate everyday. I know this is important for gut and heart health and for keeping you full. I believe a female needs at least 25g? Is that correct? Should I have more? Is there too much?

I have no idea how much fiber I currently eat. I eat some vegetables (3c iceberg lettuce, 2c cucumber, 2 stalks celery, some red pepper and either a small zucchini or 1-2c turnip, sometimes I also would have broccoli or cauliflower, about a cup each) during the day, popcorn (100cal) and oats (2/3c quaker large flakes with 1tbsp wheat bran).
How do you calculate your fiber?

    It does :)
Click "My Home" in the tab bar above then click "Settings"
You'll then have the option to track how much fiber you're getting (or any other nutrient) :)

25g sounds like a good amount
I don't think you have to worry about too much, most people are getting too little

I am doing a study called Made to Crave Action Plan. Dr. Ski Chilton is co-author and he recommends 25g of fiber per day for women and 35g of fiber per day for men. It helps keep us satiated. When I have the 25g of fiber, it makes things much easier.

He also recommends drinking 16oz of water 1st thing in the morning before anything else.
