newbie

Hello ! I'm 32 years old and approximately 238 lbs- I've ignored my weight for so long- I have finally decided to take control of my health. My biggest challenge is nutrition, even when I was thin I never ate healthy..I am looking to lose 120 lbs - it seems like such a huge goal but as they say- a journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step

Exactly! Just focus on the first few steps and don't worry about how many steps it will take. Make small goals and milestones and focus on each step of the journey. Some of my goals are as simple as "stay under X lbs for 10 days" so even when I reach a plateau I still feel I have an accomplishment. At the beginning the number one goal should be to start working toward a more healthy lifestyle without worrying too much about the numbers.

    Welcome to MFP!

It can be difficult to make changes. I would not suggest just changing everything at once. Pick one area you want to focus on and work on that for a bit, then change something else. You don't have to start big to get started. No need to kill yourself and burn out in the first week.

Feel free to add me as a friend if you want.
