i'm not picky with BBQ, be it the cheap stuff they serve in military mess halls, or the upscale stuff at Fette Sau
  • Texas Bbq in first place, Mexican/Spanish bbq in second and Cuban bbq in 3rd.

Memphis in May BBQ-fest! 2 weeks away...

I going to eat all the meats and the chickens and the sausages and...um...and...did I meantion I get free VIP passes for Southern Towing's tent? Yeah baby! Alls the BBQs!

It's a good thing you have a pass for a tent as it is near impossible to buy BBQ at a BBQ cookoff. To this day that still blows my mind.

South Carolina girl here. The best barbeque is pulled smoked pork with spicy mustard sauce. Sooooo delicious.

    Now I want barbeque.

    Same here! A Maurice's fan, I presume?

Now that I'm in FL, 4Rivers is my local fave.

Edited because how in the world could I forget Smoke 'n' Guns in KC.

Yeahhh I could talk barbeque all day long.

1st place: Monroe County BBQ. Like no other.

2nd place: BBQ mutton Owensboro style.

3rd place: Kansas City ribs (St Louis isn't bad, either).

4th place: Tuscaloosa ribs. They do it right, there. Just ribs, sauce, and wonder bread.

    5th place: Kansas City brisket.

    6th place: Memphis pulled pork.

Best BBQ sauce: Kansas City. Memphis is good, but can get a little sludgy.

As a north carolinian, I am torn between the vinegar + tomato BBQ and the vinegar+pepper BBQ.

Best BBQ in Houston? I need something to seek out while I'm stuck there for 8 hours.

    stuff I grew up on.
    This.

Don't mean to sound like a smartass, but bbq-type meals are usually social or familial and as such our tastes will have more to do with memories and habits than the objective quality of the food.

TL, DR : everyone prefers the BBQ they grew up on.

With that being said, IMO if your meat needs sauce to taste good you're doing it wrong.

OMG yum yum... BBQ is okay but I must say smoked meats are hands down the best. Dear god give me a rack of smoked pork ribs and a miller light and mama is in heaven

Lol BBQ is the same as smoking
