Want to lose 7 pounds!

Hi! I'm 5'8" and 137 pounds. I am a competitive swimmer and practice 6-7 times a week and have dryland conditioning twice a week. I'm pretty fit and have a lot of muscle (visible abs), but I would like to lose a little bit of body fat. I know I am most definitely not overweight, but I would feel a lot more comfortable and confident if Iost a few pounds. Also, for my sport, lean and muscular is the way to go and I hope it could even slightly improve my performance. I know I need a lot of energy for the exercise I'm doing so I'd like to know the best way to have a calorie deficit but not be super hungry and low on energy. It's also possible that I may not even want to lose 7 pounds and maybe less will be better for me, but I'm not sure yet, so if anyone has any opinions that would be great. And of course, I'd love any support and would love to support others with their fitness goals!

You're BMI is already 20 and will be 19 if you lose more weight so going by that you are probably already 'lean'. What may help your performance and body confidence more is if you less concentrate on that number (as in reality your body will vary up to 5 pounds a day anyway) and more concentrate on non swimming exercises that could help. I'm sure as a competitive swimmer you have access to people who could point you in the right direction for resistance exercises that would specifically help you with swimming with the correct training I'm sure it would help you far more than a number on the scale that varies hour to hour.

    Good luck
