Runners Heart Rates.

Hi there, I've been with MFP for a while now but haven't really been on the boards much.
I have a question for runners on here regarding Heart rates.
I am 49, 155lbs, 5ft 6".
I'm still practising this running malarkey. I've been doing C25K but I am doing my own thing at the moment.
So, today I ran again. This time I ran for longer, about 16 minutes in one go but my heart rate reached 190 bpm. Should I be worried about this? I know it's high but it drops as soon as I start walking again and I feel no ill effects. I stupidly mentioned this to my husband and he's googled target heart rates and now he's panicking!! Any advice would be welcome.

As long as you're heart is healthy, it's fine. If it'd make you feel better, see your gp. Those heart rate charts do not apply to everyone. The fact that it drops rapidly upon stopping running is a sign of a healthy heart.

Does your heart rate feel normal, like not skipping around or anything?
