Exercising with shin splints...

I've got shin splints and I need to rest my legs so I can get back to doing insanity (the plyometrics really ruined my legs), but I'm not sure on what to do. I want to do cardiovascular exercises, but I don't have a pool near me at all... all I have is a bench with weights.
I'm going to lose all my cardiovascular improvements by the time I'm back to insanity!
Should I just stick to weight training for now?

I was thinking of taking a week off whilst lifting, and then seeing if my leg is any better. If not, then I'll do the same until it's fully healed.0

You can do any cardio that doesn't involve impact. When I had shin splints I would climb the stairs at the local track. You can also bike ride. Walking is even possible0
