Hey, congratulations on getting into college!!! It's a big step, and you're about to face a lot of stressors you may not have encountered before. So, if you are an emotional eater then it's definitely time to get that in check. I didn't get it in check before starting school, and now I am so huge it hurts to walk sometimes. My goal is a loss of just over 200lbs. So, I will be here for awhile. lol That means I will also be here to be part of your support network. ;)

Good luck in achieving your goals!

Well I'm a freshman girl in college, and can tell you that it is A LOT harder to exercise and lose weight your freshman year than it is your senior year, if that helps :) All freshman year is is FOOD FOOD FOOD FOOD FOOD. And usually BEER too. So many calories, so little exercise.

I think it's cool that you're working towards a goal. That will probably help motivate you - I know that when I decided to lose weight for my wedding, I was super motivated and it helped me reach my goal. As far as support goes, please feel free to add me as a friend!

I have a hard time staying healthy and taking care of myself. MFP has really helped me stay on track. I've lost 20 pounds so far, which is awesome. I know that you'll be successful, too. Are there specific things you need help with?

I'm an adult student ( I'm 30) but I think that might have made it equally as hard for me to lose weight and become healthy. I have a child (A family) so I have limited time to work out, I have to do it either at school or on my family's schedule and still have time to study and do my schoolwork.. That said, In the last year I have lost 37 lbs and pretty much reached my goal weight, although I have recently modified that to lose a few more and tighten up a bit more. But that aside, I have also prioritized to the point that I have had a 4.0 GPA the last 2 semesters. I'm not trying to brag, I'm just saying, if you want it bad ewnough you can do it!!!

Studies show that physical exercise benefits your brain as well as your body, so keep in mind that if you follow a healthy exercise routine it'll help you get in shape AND help you get through your classes!
