Having a bit of a crappy day today. Ive only lost 5lbs in 3 weeks and I have been working my *kitten* off. This is the longest ive ever stuck to a diet and ok I could exercise a bit more but im trying to walk a mile a day. Im due to start my period here very shortly so i have ended up gaining weight these last couple of days, but not including that, I have only lost 5lbs. Why is it taking so long to come off? Im sitting here reading stories of others fantastic weight loss and it makes me so mad that I cant do it, WTH.

Awww dont get discouraged, I went months with out dropping anything, but I really had to step up my workouts in order to see results. Your body will just maintain weight unless you do something to burn calories! It will get better. Hang in there0

Don't be so down on yourself. You're doing great, 5 pounds is terrific. It will come off just keep working at it. We have all been there, so we understand what you are going through. I have myself been in a bit of a rut. Haven't been able to update my weight for about 4 weeks, due to it either being up 1 pound or nothing at all. But I am not giving up. Check your food diary to make sure you aren't getting too much fat, and the sodium will make you retain more water. Maybe you need to adjust something there.
Keep working at it and it will pay off.0 -
I know the feeling I'm in the same boat and I don't even have a time of the month.0

You really have to push Cardio! A mile a day is great, but you really have to get in something that is going to push your body. I went from sitting and doing nothing, to walking/jogging 5 miles a day in the beginning. The weight fell off. Everyone is different. Some people lose just by changing a couple things. The minute I stopped having soda, 10 lbs. fell off in no time. But that is my body. You should push yourself a little faster and a little farther some days. Your body will get used to what you are giving it and doing to it. Change it up. Throw a DVD with cardio in your routine. Don't always eat the same things.
It will get easier and you will see results. Keep your head up. Don't just think of it as a diet, but a real lifestyle change.0 -
5 pounds in 3 weeks is awesome! Pat yourself on the back and don't get discouraged. Remember that 1 pound per week is generally the recommendation. I know it seems like you'll never get anywhere, but I promise that you will. Just stick to it, and focus on the the victories.0

You'll get there; don't get discouraged. Maybe add a little more time to your walking each week, watch the carbs, and remember the time before your period you might hang on to the weight a little longer.0

Your body could still be changing behind the scene. Get one of those scales that monitor your percent fat. You could also do measurements in addition to weighing.
The pounds will come off eventually, but sometimes your body needs to do other things to adjust to a change in your diet.0 -
I stayed with the same weight during a whole month!!!
I has not very encouraged but I kept doing what I was doing: eating right, lifting weights and riding my bike. I just kept doing it because the idea in my head is that my weight would be a consequence of my lifestile change. And I had already decided on that change.
Well, I went to my doctor for a check-up and I lowered my cholesterol from 249 to 189 all by myself. No medication.
Conclusion: first of all believe in your new lifestile. Your body will be a consequence of it.
Congrats for you 5lb, it means your lifestile have already changed too.

I remember when I was trying to lose 50 pounds and I kept failing. I was so down on myself that all I did was keep packing on weight. Now I'm trying to lose 125 pounds. And I've had some great advantages to lose weight, I work at a gym, it's free! I would hate to see you do that to yourself. I'm back on the wagon and I've lost 9 pounds so far. Sure I'd like to have lost more but I'm going to be proud of myself for what I've lost and what I will lose. Just do your best to stsy positive. People on here are very supportive. Stick with it!!!!0
