Question about exercise calorie recording.

I wear a heart monitor when I workout. It also tells me how many calories I am burning. I begin the session when I start my cardio, and keep it running through my strength training which follows directly after. Am I cheating myself to record all of the calories of the whole workout session including the strength training? Should I only record the cardio calories? For example, I burned 450 calories during my cardio, but after I did 20 mins of weights, which totaled 584 calories during the whole workout. Should I record the 584 calories as my exercise whole, or only record the 450 calories?

Sorry if this is confusing, I would like to hear some input on this if possible. Thanks.

Heart rate monitors aren't really made for strength training... I'm not sure if it will be an accurate burn though.

Next time you work out, instead time yourself doing the strength training and log it under the MFP cardio section and then add the burns together to see what it is?

I was wondering the same. Does strength training count as additional calories allowed? Where to do you input this to get the additional calorie allowance. Most of my strength training is fast paced "metabolic" and at a high heart rate.

Same here, when I hop off the elliptical, I am still sweating and going hard.
