White four products make me fall asleep!

Well, I have confirmed what I suspected, that White flour products make me fall asleep. I had two pastries and had fallen asleep for a whole hour. Afterwards, I felt like I'd been druged and could quite happily had fallen asleep again. I thought, but I had bread yesterday and this didn't happen, of course I'd made the switch from whit to Best of Both and Oatililicious, to keep my son's diet healthy. Since re-starting MFP, this is the first time I've had something heavily containing White flour.
So bloated stomached and heavy headed I read up on the Internet and here's the most common reason I found (this is not medically certified info):
"More and more people are noticing that they feel tired after eating bread. Here are three possible reasons: 1.A large intake of refined carbohydrates. 2.You have an allergy to wheat or gluten. 3.You have an allergy to yeast. Refined carbohydrates are quickly converted by your body into sugar. This can give you a quick boost of energy, then leave you flat. This is similar to the effect of sugar, but with less severe effects . Your post-bread fatigue could be from this effect, if it turns out not to be the other two."
When I put in the search on this topic, I realised lots of people feel like this after eating refined carbs. I won't give them up, but will carry on keeping them reduced in my new healthier way of eating.
Has anyone else felt this way? How did you find out? What did, or will you do about it?

WOW!!! didn realize what white flour does to you..........i used to be really hooked on white bread and made the switch trying to live a healthier lifestyle not only for me but for my daughter who is overweight as well. I have decided that when i get my taxes i am cleaning out my cabinets and replacing everything with low fat and whole wheat and whole grain products and brown rice. this will be a big change for us as for my son is healthy as a horse but i told him that he would have to start eating healthy with us. he doesnt like brown bread but he can get used to it................................My father is getting ready to have bypass surgery an they are going to have to change there eating habits as well..............Thanks for the info as i will pass it along to them as well.0

Have you tried Oatilicious? It's bread made from Oats instead. Your son might like it, because it looks and tastes like White bread. Diet wise it's 100 cals per slice, but doesn't bloat or cause drowsiness etc. There are also other types of bread availible besides wholewheat that he might like to try, or even making his own bread in a bread maker if he's older.he doesnt like brown bread but he can get used to it................................
Thanks for that. I'll ask my Dr for an allergy test and see what they advise. It would be good to make sure I'm not at risk! And can be aware, if it starts to affect my son.peanuts make me fall asleep etc etc too and i have an allergy to them you should get your dr to do a allergy test the symtoms you are having could be a allergic reaction and this can be dangerous . you could be allergic to some thing in the pastry other than the flour.
I haven't had any problems with those, but it's still really good to know. Especially for anyone else reading this. ThanksWhite sugar, White rice as well. Its all processed and converts quickly into sugar. I know this to be fact because my daughter is a diabetic.0
