Good brands of HRMs??

I'm looking tp purchase an inexpensive but effective HRM with a chest strap. 1) Where do I purchase both? 2)Whats a good brand?

    If it needs a chest strap it will come equipped with one. I got a Polar FT4. Purchased from Di*k's Sporting Goods. I've seen where people have purchased from Ebay as well.

    I got my Polar FT7 off Craigslist for $50; it normally retails at places like REI for $100-120. Keep your eye out for bargains!! I <3 my hrm.

    I got my Polar FT7 from ****s Sporting Goods. They have them at Best Buy as well.

    I got my Polar FT4 from Best Buy and love it. The chest strap dosen't bother me at all.

    The lower-end Polar HRMs (FT4, FT7, etc.) must be sent back to the manufacturer to have the batteries replaced. This adds cost and inconvenience. Something you might want to consider. I bought a Timex HRM off ebay ($46 including shipping) and I've been using it for the past 2 days. Sorry, not enough time to provide relevant feedback. However, the user can replace the battery in Timex HRMs. Amazon sells HRMs and you can read customer reviews. Good luck in your search.

    Not the FT7. You can replace it yourself.
