Hi, just looking to see if anyone is trying to lose weight with PCOS or Infertility problems. I have been infertile for three years due to PCOS, insulin resistance, and underactive thyroid. All of which cause weight gain. Would like to make friends with someone going through the similar struggles to lose weight to try help these issues:O)

There are several ladies on the board Fit for Future Families that are going through this. I'd highly recommend you go there. I have pcos/insulin resistance and have been trying to have a baby for 7 years....just found out I'm pregnant and possibly expecting multiples! So there is hope. I also follow The Diet Solution's protein plan and highly recommend the program. You can google it and get eBooks or spend a little extra for the hardcopy. Good luck!0

I have PCOS and am trying to lose weight and get healthy o hopefully have baby #2. My son was a total surprise and a blessing... he's 2-1/2 now. Before I got pregnant with him I was told that it was unlikely that I could have children. Don't give up hope! Add me as a friend and we can motivate eachother!!0

Hi, I suffer from PCOS and Hypothyoidism. Needless to say losing weight for me is a stuggle. It seems like I can only gain, but not lose!! I'm hoping this time around on the right diet and meds I can finally get the weight off. Please feel free to add me as a friend as I know what you are going through!0

I did suffer from PCOS years ago! I had one child and desparatley wanted another. I went through infertility treatments and gained weight as a result ( I was already overweight to begin with) I decided to "give up" trying and focused on my health, both mentally and physically. I joined Weight Watchers and began exercising. After 8 months, I lost 50 lbs! That very week of making the 50 lb mark, I found out I was pregnant! Weird timing since I was trying to lose weight and still had 40 more to go, but I was elated! After baby number two, I continued my weight loss and exercise and then had baby number three! I am now a very happy and healthy mom of 3 beautiful kids!!! Not to mention, my periods became very regular and I have one like clock work now. Amazing what nature can do for your body just by becoming healthy! I wish you the very best of luck0

PS... Also don't take the diagnoses of PCOS as the end of having kids. I was told after I had my son I would never be able to have kids again and I was blessed to have a little girl. She is now 2. :happy:0

I also have PCOS, insulin resistance, thyroid disease - you name it! I have a fourteen year old daughter. It took 6 years and three miscarriages before I got her. Had grapefruit size cysts and had to have a hysterectomy so no more children
I also have a metabolic disorder that combined with everything else makes it very HARD to lose weight. I lost over 50 lbs last year and have gained 22 lbs back from a car accident preventing me to exercise. So I am slowly working on getting that back off and then adding to it.
I exercise more now than I ever did and the weight comes off very slowly - so hang in there. It will happen, but it can be and will be a very frustrating journey. :ohwell:0 -
Thank you everyone for your responses and friend request. I am taking time off right now from the baby makin and stress of everything to strictly concentrate on my weight since it seems to be the main factor in all of this. I have not even been able to be put on any fertility medicine because of my thyroid levels and a whole bunch of other stuff you don't even want me to get started on. LOL.. You have all made me very motivated and hopeful for everything to fall into place starting with the weight loss! Thanks again ladies!0
