My low carb meal plan

Hello MFP

Figured I'd share my typical meal plan of what I was eating while I lost those 30 lbs over 60 days (Wife followed a similar plan and lost 22 lbs). After the 1st week, I was never hungry.

I based my meal plan on the South Beach diet (phase 1) and after looking it over it looks like I was under 50 carbs a day and I was possibly in Ketosis without even knowing about that diet at the time. I'm not eating like this currently because my weight loss isn't as much as a priority as it used to be and I'm trying to gain muscle, while losing these last 20 lbs or so.

Constructive criticism, opinions and questions are welcome. I'm in no way a expert in anything. Just a guy that enjoys increasing his knowledge on the many diet/fitness plans out there and I use that information to help myself make decisions on my own diet/fitness plans. :D

    I am also a low carber and your daily food intake looks good. If you subtract your fiber from your carbs you are closer to 30 grams a day which is a great number. For most of us die-hard low carbers we try to keep our ratios like this:
    Fat Calories:60-70%
    Protein Calories: 25-30%
    Carb Calories: 5-10%
    The idea is to eat lots of healthy fats. They will keep you full and give you lots of energy. Eat lots of high fiber veggies and nuts to keep your carb count down as well. NET Carbs is carb grams - fiber grams. If you want some support join me and a few other low carb/paleo friends on the journey to good health and fitness!
