Jacket Potatoes

For people that eat these which of the multiple options do you select when you log them?? There are values in the database for small-medium potatoes that range from 83 calories to 281 calories!! That makes a serious difference.

I've just picked one that says 110 because I did have in my head that 120 was about right for a small, plain potato.

But I'm confused!

    ha I came to this cuz by the name I thought maybe it was a new recipe for potatoes! had no idea what that meant! LOL

    I weigh the potato after cooking and use one of the options where you can put in the ounces (or grams, however you are weighing it).

    Well if you are ever in doubt. you can go to www.calorieking.com to look up the food. I have the book here, so that is what I do. I love this site. Hope this helps!

    i weigh a potatoe before i cook it and figured that the weight, even though it was alot less after baking, was right from before cooking cuz it takes the same potatoe and just cooks out the water... is that not right??? crap. i eat potatoes several days a week.

    For your standard, small, russett potatoe, its around 100 calories. if you get a bigger one, then it increases calories. some of the really small ones are only 4oz and such which is under 100calories because 100calories is for a 5.3oz one.

    Thanks, sounds like the higher ones are way off.

    I didn't know Jacket potato was an unusual term! Maybe it's a UK/US thing.
