Upcoming NaNo in November
Anyone doing the NaNoWriMo this year?
Yea, still some months till that but one gotta be prepared, right? After dropping the ball of exercising this past July while doing the Camp (and winning! yoohoo!), I'm pretty aprehensive of what will happen in November.
Any strategies for not losing track with fitness while trying to keep that butt in the chair to get those 50k?
p.s. This morning - first time thinking that there might be WriMos out here. Yea, I'm slow...

honestly hadn't though about it, I might do it this year although I usually space it off and then don't do it. There is also no shave november which I might tell my husband to do LOL0

Major bumpage! But as its November this should probably be recovered to find more of us. This is my third Nanowrimo, will hopefully be my second win0

yes-and how to get enough exercise in and meet my daily word count is stressing me out! aaahhhh.....0

I'm trying for my second time. First was two years ago and I only got to 20k. Going well with 4k under my belt early on Day 2. I also have some swimming races so need to keep that training going (if only the weather would cooperate on that one) and a walking challenge I am super keen on. Luckily my job is quite active so I get some movement in that way and I have scheduled the workouts. Writing fills all the non-scheduled spots on my calendar with the rule that I don't get to sleep until I have hit that day's word count (aiming for 2k per day). My concern is not snacking too much while writing... Ok, off to hit the first mile stone - 5k here I come!0

This is my 9th year doing NaNo. I failed miserably my first year and quit early in 2010 when I had my gallbladder out in November, but I've hit my 50k words every other year.
And yes. It's tough but you can maintain a deficit and write.0 -

NaNoWriMo stands for National Novel Writing Month. It's a challenge to write a 50,000 word novel (or the first draft of a novel, anyway) in 30 days. Google is your friend if you're looking for more info.

Helloooo! I'm doing NaNoWriMo and keeping up with my fitness goals! I'm trying to think of writing as a substitute for unhealthy things like late night snacking or binge drinking. I also exercise in the AM to get it out of the way. Friend me if you want a NaNoWriMo fitness friend!0

I get my walking in while doing research. I have a board across the arms of my treadmill with my netbook on top and walk and roam through research or the NaNo forums. And I keep my water next to me at my desk so whenever I pause to think (or get frustrated) I have something to do (pound down water like its a shot of whiskey and channel my inner Hemmingway).
*This is my fourth attempt at Nano, btw, and I'm on track for winning for the first time, so far.0 -
I've created a support group here for those interested in NaNoWriMo + Fitness :

I'm doing it!! As of today I'm about 10,000 words in. I've never finished before, but I'm super excited this year to take on the challenge.0

Thanks for the group. Joyned already. Gather up, wrimos, and spill your secrets of staying on track while still getting those 1667 words a day...0
