I tried to do this at home at a church parking lot.
It was so hard.
but, a few questions.
How long did it actually take you to complete?
Where did you do it? Like the gym? or at home?
Thank youu. =]

Don't give up!
I ran outside on a dirt/grass path at the park. If you find any portion of the program harder, just repeat that week!
In the past I hated running, butI did Couch to 5K last Spring and have been running for about a year now.
I did a 4miler in February and a 10K All-Trail Easter Fun Run - ! <== I completed these, though I'm definitely 'Back-of-the Pack,' but I enjoy jogging so much I don't mind being very slow. For me speed is not the point! Maybe someday it will be...
Keep going and good luck! :flowerforyou:0 -
I do it in the park near my house, but I will have it move it inside soon as the temp are getting closer to 100 everyday. I am just finishing week 2. It is amazing what you can accomplish if you just push a little harder each time. Good luck and keep going!0

I did it on my treadmill and the track in town. Like a previous poster said, if a week is hard for you to complete, repeat it.
There is also a Bridge to 10K app that is available. I did that after C25K, whick I did in a bit less time then they say because I was trying to get ready for a 10K.....0 -
I live about half a mile away from a cemetary that has a half mile loop running through it. I start at my house go to the cemetery and come back. I try not to worry too much about distance. It's about building endurance. Worry about the speed later. I'm short so I will never be a really fast runner simply because I have short legs! I just pay very close attention to my breathing if I find that I'm gasping for air...I'm running to fast and I slow it down. I end up going about 2 miles in total right now...I'm only on week one...but I also walk more than the warm up and cool down cool down call for since I'm going to the cemetary to do the run portion. Cemetaries are great places to jog if you don't mind running in circles. It's peacefull, it's beautiful, not a lot of people to gawk at you, and I like to apprecieate that all the people there lived wonderful lives and smile at the adornments loved ones leave

I do the c25k on a treadmill

I'm starting W3 on Monday0 -
I started in the park by my house in late December, but then got pelted with snowstorm after snowstorm, so I joined a gym and did it on the treadmill.
Being stubborn and determined, I finished a little faster than 9 weeks. I did extra intervals at the start, then tacked on a few extra minutes when the distance was longer. For example, I did 25 minutes the week you were supposed to do 20. Once I could run for 3 miles, I veered away from C25K and tried aiming for about a quarter mile longer distance each time.
I'm about halfway through a 10k program on Active.com now, but even then, I tend to do a bit more than required. I love running outside now and hate the treadmill with the burning heat of 1000 suns. I'm really enjoying running races, and was thrilled to finish a 5 miler last weekend just seven seconds behind my 25 year old niece, who's been running for years.

I am doing it on the treadmill. It's been pretty easy. I started very slow and gradually added speed each run. I am just finishing up week 2 and running at an average speed of 3.4, pretty slow but for my weight it works out well, no knee pain!
I know they recommend taking it slow and repeating weeks if you need to. I use to run, so I don't know if that is why it seems easy for me or not. When I first started running I could hardly make it 20 seconds.
Keep in mind as you are doing this your are building muscle and you might be using muscle you haven't really used before.
Make sure you are 'belly breathing', this means your belly goes out when you breath, your shoulders do not go up.
Build up slowly, this will help build your stamina and help you avoid injury.
Compare yourself ONLY to you, never to anyone else.
Even the marathon runner started where you are,
Most important, no matter how long it takes, you are out there and you are working at a better you, it should matter if it takes you 9 weeks to complete the C25k training or if it takes you longer, one step at a time!0 -
I started 3 weeks ago at this little park by my sons school (havent done it in two weeks) it is very hard for me, my legs and shins hurt when I do it, and being a smoker its hard to breath, but not hard enough that I had to quite. I am wanting to build up some cardio before I try it again, but I have to get moving, I have a Warrior Dash race in 125 days

I am working on C10K right now, and I must say the rest days are really, really important.
Also, speaking as someone that used to be a pretty regular short distance runner (5K @ 5 days per week) it's crucial you vary the landscape. Doing these sorts of training circuits can get repetitive and difficult if the scenery is constantly the same. Try to hit some running paths and trails and other environments. Good luck! You can do it.0
