Which exercise kcal to believe?

Hi All,
Do you count your calories as listed in s-fit (or other tracking apps) directly against your daily intake?
For example, MFP has me on 1700ish kcal/day. today i have a bit over 10k steps with some running. sfit has me at 880 kcal, accupedo at 500 (presumably b/c it didn't note the running). when I tried to sync accupedo and my fit pal, it showed only about 150 kcal coming off for exercise. I have seen some people noting they take 50% off exercise kcals anyway. So I am a bit at a loss as to what would be reasonable to consume (and I am hungry .
I am just trying to get started (day 5!) and want to figure out my process. Any guidance as to what you guys are doing would be great.
thanks
ej

I think the key thing is to avoid overthinking it.
If you set up MFP, then log your planned exercise you've got enough structure to then test and adjust according to your progress.0 -

10K steps gets me 350-400 calories maximum .. I'm 5'8 - 166lbs
my activity level is set to sedentary with negative adjustments enabled to ensure I'm not double-counting calories
your counts sound very high .. see how it goes against your weight loss

Thanks for both replies. I especially like the not over thinking it point.
I am 6ft , 90k (roughly 190lbs). Mfp suggests my maintenance intake would be 2250 kcal so it set me around 1760 for a deficit of 500. It is expecting about a lb a week. First week was fine, we will see how it goes.
My plan at this point is to manually input 50% of my reported kcal from walking. This is based on a guess that I will tend to over estimate exercise effectiveness and under estimate calorie intake.
Thanks for the replies
Thanks
