Any suggestions for a low calorie/average calorie curry?

I want a medium/hot curry that I can eat with greek yoghurt (lots but on the side). Please, nothing with too many ingrediants.

I went to the NZ Healthy Food website (healthyfood.co.nz), and made a meat curry, lemon & cashew nut rice and onion fritters with a side of corn, and heaps of greek yogurt. It was delicious! am a bit anxious about calculating how many calories I ate. Probably still better than if I had McDonalds...

You can make cauliflower rice, it really reduces the calories and is good for you.

Bam! can't get much simpler than that, stocked at Coles and Safeway.

FYI: It's vegan and has not got meat in it but a mock meat substitute, it may not be to your liking but plenty of my omnivore friends enjoy it.

For your recipes you should be able to import it straight into the recipe builder here and it will total the cals for you. I'm not sure how well it works as I just type mine out the slow, old fashioned way! (mostly cos I make them up myself or they come out of a book). Just watch though, because no matter how you enter things the recipe builder is likely to screw up on amounts on some things (like it once turned 200g of tomatoes into 200 individual tomatoes for me).

Yeah, we can get some of the Fry's stuff in NZ, but alas not the curries! Do you have any Indian spice shops near you Steph? (there are loads in Wellington) They generally have a huge selection of packet/pouch stuff, some of which is pretty calorie-friendly and usually cheap as too. If you love curry it might be worth having some in the pantry

For low-cal 'curries', I mix milk/greek yoghurt (to get the right consistency) and curry powder.
Then just stir it through already cooked vegetables or meat, or even beans.whatever you like its just a sauce.

Its definitely not curry in the traditional sense, nor does it taste exactly as a curry should. but its pretty good, and can be low calorie.

Check the ingredients about Fry's products - some people would say they are not so healthy.

Check out a tandoori chicken or chicken tikka recipe where the chicken is marinaded and cooked on a grill. You can have it with raita (natural yoghurt, cucumber and red onion with a few spices), salad and rice, pitta bread or naan.

I'm hungry now! Haha x
