Is this a varicose vein or something worse?

    Pretty sure it's not. (I'm no expert) but varicose veins are fairly common and seldom end with death

    Well my legs look like that and it started 10 years ago and I'm still alive and kicking! However it would probably be a good idea to check with your doctor for a professional opinion if it is concerning you.

    Just within the past year or so and just this one below my knee. So glad to know it's not serious, but I guess I should get my vitals checked soon.
