My first long run in a couple of months this morning. 10.7 miles in fine rain at an easy pace - beautiful.

    June 1 - 5.1 miles
    June 2 - strength training
    June 3 - 5.3 miles
    June 4 - strength training
    June 5 - 5.35 miles
June 6 -34 mile bike ride
    June 7 - 42 mile bike ride
    June 8 - 2 miles
June 9 - Strength Training and Yoga class
    June 10 - 6.63 miles -
    June 11 - rest day
June 12 - 3.21 miles - easy run; strength training
June 13- 34 mile bike ride
June 14 - 5.3 miles - knee was hurting last night after the bike ride and after my run I realized "wow, no knee pain this morning!" But that was probably because I was so busy complaining about the d@#* heat! OMG - it was ridiculous. Daughter and I drove to a trail that is shaded and has a lot of fence art work. When we get back to car - both COMPLETELY drenched in sweat we realize we forgot towels. We couldn't stop sweating... so she sat on a raincoat that I didn't even know I had in the trunk and I sat on the "car blanket". Car blanket is something we've always kept in the car since my kids were little because one of them would always complain about being cold when I had AC blasting.

@jorocka - love the pics! You look great! I had a student do a presentation on the selfie stick recently. I learned more about that than I ever needed to know. She had a lot of pics of herself in the presentation. Really??? yes! She loves her selfie stick and loves taking pics of herself.

@7lenny7 - I keep getting little injuries like that -- I change my gait because of a small pain and then get a different injury.

    6/1- swim/ bike day
    6/2- 3 mi.
    6/3- rest day
    6/4- 5.7 mile trail run
    6/5- rest day
    6/6- swim and bike
    6/7- 1.5 mile brick run
    6/8- swim day
    6/9- 3.1 miles + bike
    6/10- rest

6/11- 7.6 miles on the road. Felt awesome!
6/12- unscheduled rest day. Went to a friend's birthday party instead. No regrets, whatsoever.
    6/13- long bike ride
6/14- 3.5 mile trail race plus 1.5 miles warm up/ cool down. My legs were tired from yesterday's long bike ride but I fell into a comfortable pace and felt strong from start to finish. Passed a few people, only got passed once. Finished comfortably in the top half of the field. Doesn't seem that impressive, but , hey, it's progress!

    Total: 25.9 mi.

    6/1 - 5 miles
    6/2 - 5.3 miles
    6/3 - 3.2 miles
    6/4 - 4.4 miles
    6/5 - 2.3 miles
6/6 - 1.6 miles - rest day today but did this to keep the 41 Days of Awesome challenge streak going
6/7 - 7 miles - I'm so proud of this run it was at 10:21 pace, which is fast for me - I was comfortable the whole run
    6/8 - 4.4 miles
    6/9 - 5.8 miles
6/10 - 1.6 miles - rest day today - just keeping the 41 Days of Awesome challenge alive. I'm trying to do this mile at a faster than normal pace for me. Then I grabbed Macy and took her for a 2 mile walk.
    6/11 - 6 miles
    6/12 - 4.7miles
    6/13 - 4.6 miles
6/14 - 9.6 miles very hot very hot miles. I think it was about 83 when I went to run. Went to the Greenway to be in the shade. Sweat was dripping off my shorts by the time I was done. I was ticked I couldn't run the whole 10 miles so I went back out after getting my water for a fast paced .6 mile walk.

    65.5 out of 120 miles

@SBRRepeat great job on the race - love the new picture
@ddmom0811 I feel your pain on the sweat today. I had a change of shirt with me and I took off my wet shirt and was toweling off. I look up and two guys were standing there looking at me so I waved. They laughed at being caught and said "thank you" and continued on. LOL Have you never seen a woman in a sports bra
@jorocka I don't get the selfie stick either. We were in WalMart the other day and a girl was just taking a million pictures of herself with one. Okay dokay.
    @pandora_and_her_box nice long run!

@skippygirlsmom lol! That's funny! Maybe they were waiting to see how nakie you'd get?

@JoRocka I'm jealous, if my body tells me to eff myself- i take a nap! You have a pretty good pace there!

@ddmom0811 glad the knee wasn't an issue. I hear ya on the heat. My car said it was 81 when I finished my run. I'm like "are you friggin huffing gasoline?" Cuz it sure feels hotter. It's super humid today and little breeze, I was just praying that the dark clouds above would let loose.. That didn't happen until I got home..

    @SBRRepeat congrats on the race!

First time I have been able to read the forums this weekend. Lots of posts!

@isulo_kura - Thanks for the tip on layering the compression shirt underneath. I never would have considered layering in the heat like that without someone mentioning it made little difference heat-wise. It worked perfectly!

@shanaber - That's interesting that you don't see any half fanatics or marathon maniacs shirts out at the races there. That's how I first learned about them from seeing groups of them before races here. I don't think I've been to a half where I have not seen any. Some have more than others, seems to depend if it attracts people from out of state, as a lot of people who travel for races might tend to be fanatics/maniacs (that's my theory anyway). It's a good shirt. Hat is nice too for that matter. There were probably 30 of us gathered ahead of the half last weekend for a pre-race photo. Met some cool people too. It's a conversation starter so I like that.

@RunTimer - Great view! I can understand why so many stop to take pics.

@Elise4270 - I hope your runs are getting better.

    @7lenny7 - Nice shot!

    @RobertDupuy - Welcome aboard!

@kimlight2 - Congrats on the 5k! It is definitely addictive. :star:

@bbandme - Glad your ankle is better. Play it safe and build slowly. The only thing that sucks worse than missing miles due to injury is missing even more re-injured!

@caratayloruk - Congrats on the PR in the rain!

@7lenny7 - Hope that foot issue gets better.

@autumnblade75 - Congrats on the PR!! :sunglasses:

@mwyvr - Nothing like waiting to break in new shoes! I bought some new trail shoes Wednesday but all of the good local trails are closed due to the "monsoon season" we have been having. If nothing opens this week I may have to travel to some that are open.

@JoRocka - Way to get that run in. And those sweat patterns on your shirt are awesome! Very Rorschach.

@Pandora_and_her_box - Nice long run after a long break!

@ everyone running in the heat - I feel your pain too! I can't tell the difference any more between running in the rain and running in fair weather.

Yesterday was a 16 mile long run with no immediate post-run recovery meal to set up for today's 8 mile run on tired/depleted legs.

    6/2 - 4.1 miles
    6/3 - 4 miles (8.1 total)
    6/4 - 4.1 miles (12.2 total)
    6/6 -13.4 miles (25.6 total)
    6/8 - 6 miles (31.6 total)
    6/9 - 6 miles (37.6 total)
    6/10 - 6 miles (43.6 total)
    6/11 - 6 miles (49.6 total)
    6/13 - 16 miles (65.6 total)
    6/14 - 8 miles (73.6 total)

    Goal 130 miles

Hopefully back to it now, I know I won't meet my target but that's ok, injury happens!

At 20km for the month now (20/75)
