I'll post my updated stats tomorrow, but a question for everyone. I'm finding that the day I ride or run, I have a heck of a time eating my minimum calorie goal. I'm just not hungry, like at all. If I skip a day or two, omg there isn't enough food on the planet. This past week my net cals was less than a thousand for four out of the seven days. Any suggestions?? I don't want to crash and burn...I want to get better and better. But I'm concerned I'm not eating enough...

My diary is open if you want to take a look. Thanks

What time of the day do you typically bike at?
What is your average ride distance?
What do you use as your source for your calories burned -- HRM, MFP, other calculator?

I ride 30 minutes (4 miles) during my lunch break (noon) 2-3 times a week.
I usually ride about 7-10 miles after work.
I alternate days of riding with running on the lunch break.
My calories burned source is RunTheMap app on my phone. I've used bicycle.com to double check the calorie estimates and I've used runnersworld.com for the same thing.
I try to get in a long ride one day on the weekend...for me a long ride is only 20+.
Eating on the days that I'm doing riding or running are the days I'm having so much trouble getting in the calories. If I take a break for a couple of days, I'm totally mowing down ALL the food. Is this normal?

A good rule of thumb is that you burn ~35-40 calories per mile while riding.
Most calculators I have used have seemed to be over by a bit (45-55 cal/mile).

I am not sure about why you might not be hungry on days you run/bike. I find it to be the opposite for me. I am usually insatiably hungry after I bike.

I'm not sure about miles, but hoping to go cycling at least 3 times a week (twice to volleyball, and a recreational one).

This will commence either tomorrow or Tuesday, as my bike is in for repair. Until this, I had been cycling 3 times a week :)

Didn't put as many miles on the bike today/yesterday as it was rainy this weekend, and my buddy cancelled our morning ride (which was a good thing as my early Sunday running group decided to go for 15 miles today). As a result, my weekend travel was limited to just my ballpark commuting mileage.

I decided to put more lipstick on my pig ($160 walmart city commuter) as I know I'll be putting 1000+ miles on it this summer, so I snagged an aluminum crankset (shimano tourney 50/39/30) to go along with the new wheels/tires (R501/lithion 2). I'll install a new bottom bracket as well once all the parts come in - which should get the bike down under 24lb. I'll share pics once I finish the project in a few weeks.

    6/1 - 15 miles
    6/2 - 6 miles
    6/4 - 65 miles
    6/5 - 50 miles
    6/9 - 12 miles

    6/14 - 12 miles

Congrats! I bet that feels amazing to have it under your belt.
I have my first coming up on 8/1 & feel like I have a lot of ground to cover before I get there.

@dxp232 - big congrads on knocking that off - soon enough you'll be doing back to back centuries, a double metric, or even a double-century!

New wheels are now on my commuter, subtracting about 4lb (which is helpful with the hills and the 3 flights of stairs I'm carrying my bike up this week), but I'll need to adjust the brakes for the narrower rims, and do some derailleur tuning tomorrow to line things up with the new cassette (despite the addition of a spacer). New crank & bottom bracket won't go on until next week.

    6/1 - 15 miles
    6/2 - 6 miles
    6/4 - 65 miles
    6/5 - 50 miles

    6/15 - 13 miles + 5 miles (expresso)
