Patchy beard

I'm trying to actually grow a beard, but there's one spot on my "other chin" I guess it would be called that doesn't seem to grow as thick or dark as the rest. Would it be best to just trim the rest down or will the "patchy" spot eventually catch up?

eh is that even true? I read it was just genetic and that shaving has no effect

Per mayoclinic.org "No — shaving hair doesn't change its thickness, color or rate of growth.

Shaving facial or body hair gives the hair a blunt tip. The tip might feel coarse or "stubbly" for a time as it grows out. During this phase, the hair might be more noticeable and perhaps appear darker or thicker — but it's not."

    Trust me. He knows.

Why should I trust you? He might not have any idea.

I'm surprised he isn't knocking on your door already.

I'm still stuck wondering about this part:
there's one spot on my "other chin" I guess it would be called
I've had plenty of classes in anatomy, physiology, biology, etc., and I've never head about an "other chin".
And I can't even come up with a salacious explanation for it.

My brother had that. It is a form of alopecia and there isn't anything you can do about it except don't grow a beard.

This thread is really old, and it looks like the OP doesn’t have an account anymore.

I don’t care either, if you don’t. Carry on...

I would guess he means a double chin or the fatty neck under the jaw.
