I was doing so good. I started mfp and was down almost 50 pounds. I got sick with bronchitis could not breath. So I quit smoking, gained all the weight I had lost . I 1st started out at 350 something went down to 308 and that is when I quit smoking , the 1st week that I quit I gained 20 pounds no lie . I was going to the drs weekly at the time because the bronchitis and my asthma were so bad. My dr was speechless with the weight gain , and from there just kept going up and up. I moved from MN to NC , and a yr later found a new drs office i like . I also found out I am 428 lbs and i have high blood pressure . Dr kept talking about the surgery and how much it would help me . I am sorry that scares me. I want , no I will do this on my own. I did it once I can do it again . But i need help. I get depressed and give up too much. This time I have to succeed so its not my life that I loss.

You can do it I know you can! Little steps at a time. I gained a lot of weight after I quit smoking too.

Just one pound at a time. You can do it, but break it up into little chunks. If you lose a pound a week in less than two years you'll be where you want. Read some of the success stories on here, make a commitment to yourself to put your health and life first, and take it one day at a time. If you derail (when, not if) pick yourself up, dust yourself off, say "no" to a pity party, and start logging again.

From personal experience to quit smoking is harder than losing weight, so I know you got this ;) Take it one day at a time, count your calories, as long as you don't stop you WILL lose the weight!
