Start Weight (5th December): Saturday weigh ins.
    Goal Weight (2nd January): 167.2

    5th December: 172.2
    12th December: 173.0
    19th December:
    26th December:
    2nd January

    Weight lost/gained this week: +.8
    Weight lost/gained this month: +.8

Successes/struggles this week: Week 1. I gained .8 pounds. I exercised 6 days out of 7 and I was under my calorie goal + calories burned every day except 2 days and not over by more than 160 calories either day. So I honestly don’t know what happened. It has got to be TOM, but this has never dragged on for 2 weeks. I’m starting to get very discouraged. I’ve passed up tons of holiday party foods with not results. This is just the kind of thing that throws me into gorging. I’m going to try as hard as I did last week, next week, but if I’m not down by at least 3 pounds, I’m throwing in the towel and enjoying the holidays.

Phyllis, keep doing the right thing. You're "not finished" yet. Your whoosh is coming along any day now.

Hi Phyllis, you said you are under meeting your calorie goals so with exercising you should definitely be losing. Maybe you are retaining water. Try cutting back on salt, limiting soda and/or alcohol and drink tons of water. I was holding water for almost a week didn't give up just kept flushing and weighed in to finally see a 3# drop on the scale.

Don't give up, you are doing all the right things!

  • Hi, All!

This is a follow on from the November 2015 Weight Loss Challenge. It works the same way: You set your own goals, then weigh in each week. (Feel free to change the weigh-ins to suit your own schedule.) Everyone is welcome, no matter what your goals may be. You don't need to have done the November challenge to join in December. (In fact, you can join at any time.)

You will copy the form below, and paste it in a new reply, adding your own information. Each week you will update in another new reply.

Struggles/victories for the week: Not where I wanted to be this week, but at least it's not a gain. I thought I did a good job ignoring most holiday treats...apparently, I didn't avoid them enough. I got a lot of walking in and plan to continue. Each coming week is going to be harder though. Wish me luck!

    Height: 171cm

    Start Weight (1st December): 85.8kg
    Goal Weight (4th January): 82.3kg

My weigh day is on Monday
    1st December:85.8kg
    7th December:84.8kg
    14th December:83.9kg

    28th December:
    4th January:

    Weight lost/gained this week: 0.9kg
    Weight lost/gained this month:1.9kg

    Successes/struggles this week:
    Success:
Every week I eat all I like within my calorie allowance, but I always have this inner doubt about CICO. As in what you eat doesn't matter how much you eat does. I mean I do eat well but when I have the odd treat that fits into my calorie limit I still doubt it. So when I jump on the scale I don't expect any positive movement anyway. But it just goes to show that it is all about CICO all the way!!

    Struggle:
Over the weekend I was constantly craving different things- sweet, sour, chilli, savoury.... And I know that it wasn't due to hunger.

Successes/struggles this week: Won't be able to weigh tomorrow most likely, so weighing today instead. I feel like I've really gotten a hold of my eating this week, and it shows. Yesterday was the first time I saw 141! Mind you, it was 141.8, but still... ;) I'm proud of myself for losing even though I had a couple of high calorie days due to Christmas meals out for uni. Could it be possible for me to reach goal weight by xmas? It's still unlikely at the rate I'm going, but I can hope. I think I'll at least be 141, fingers crossed. I just have to not blow it with xmas meals before the actual day. I'm gonna be eating what I want on the 25th, goal weight or not!
