Hi, I just started myfitnesspal on the advise of my OB/Gyn. She said she used it to get off her last 10 lbs. so I'm giving it a try. I love how it tells me if I keep up the eating and workout schedule I'll weigh "blank" on a certain date. It's very incouraging.

it will work by keeping you "accountable" on food and exercise! Not to mention the online friends and encouragement are great. btw, I'm sweating in NC!!! - going to be 97 by the weekend, where's my water????

I totally understand sweating! I'm in Odessa and it hit 109 yesterday! Had to go to the gym with a/c because being outside is unbearable. Even at 530 this morning it was hot!

I didn't make it to the parade and what's worse is that I was at work downtown...argh!!! So at lunch time I got to see all the jubilant spectators walk by all excited that they got to go...LOL!

I love this sight, mostly for the encouragement you get and it helps me alot to keep track of my food intake. It sets your calories per day and then just putting it down so you can see it helps alot. I try to do the exercise one too, but am not as good at keeping track of that as the food diary. Good luck and welcome!

not to bust your bubble- but mfp does not take into account plateaus or the increase in muscle mass-i had put down one of those into my diary 5 weeks later and I was severalpounds from that number and it hit on a weigh in day that I was still in a plateu-very very discouraging- so I had to quit looking at them. and if you really are bad and dont eat enough it will say in 5 weeks that you lose like 25 pounds--NOT--anyway other than that I LOVE LOVE LOVE this site. Good Luck

I'm in San Antonio and we're sweating big time here too! It's been 101 and 102 all week!!! Anyway, I love the weight in 5 weeks thing. I make a note of it in the notes below it every day. I had one day that was horrible and I only had 750ish cals and of course I got the "starvation" reprimand and the number was way lower than other days but not outrageously. Anyway, it's a pretty good tool. If it's too different from the day before, you know you need to look over your day and evaluate! Ok Texans....let's sweat these pounds off!!!
