A: Don't expect instant results. Some people take weeks of diet change before they see a change on the scale. Ten days is just the start of a lifetime of change.
B: Are you measuring and logging everything you eat and making sure that your macros (protein, fat, carbs) all balance according to your body type and nutritive needs? It's possible that you're eating more than you think you are, or are eating the wrong balance of foods.
C: Are you being honest about how much you exercise? Walking to the soda machine and back at work doesn't count as 'lightly active'.
Try adding a little bit of walking to your day- just twenty minutes hard walk a day can make a big difference. 0 -
Thank you, that makes me feel better, but Yes I am logging in everything and making adjustments when I have something that is too high. I am walking briskly for an hour a day about every other day and doing an AB workout every day. I will try to increase my exercise on my off walk days, maybe do the tread mill!0

1. Are you logging your food correctly and using a scale to measure everything you eat?
2. Are you logging your exercise correctly?
If you have answered both of these with a "yes" and are 100% sure that you are creating calorie deficit, keep on with your goal.
Weight loss is not instant, it takes some time, for some people more, for some less. If you are sure that your plan is good keep on working and you will see results soon enough. 10 days is nothing, if you continue eating calorie deficit for a month, and don't see any results I would advise seeing your doctor.0 -
How much water are you drinking? What's a typical day for you food wise, if you could share with us?

what do you mean balance according to your body type? if you mean that people who are pear shape or apple shape, etc need to eat differently, the answer is no. all thats needed is a caloric deficit. there is no wrong balance of food. you could eat all junk food but as long as the person was in a deficit they would still lose weight. would it be healthy? probably not but its still a deficit. its not what you eat its how much. eating healthier is better for your health of course. not everyone is going to hit their macros on point every day and thats ok.sometimes you go over and sometimes you are under. thats not going to make a big difference with weight loss.Exercise is for health.yes,it can create a bigger deficit allowing you to eat more food. but its not needed for weight loss.-1 -
I am being honest with my food intake,,, but a scale is a great idea. And NO I am not drinking enough water. I know this sounds crazy but it makes me gag. I need to really push my self to do that. I will definitely try. I do have 2 cups of coffee in the morning and then I try to do a few glasses of water for dinner but that is it. I need to change that.

you could always put lemon or other fruits in your water to make it have a little bit of a taste. and are you drinking city water or bottled? I ask because my city water makes me sick to my stomach with the chemicals they use to treat it. but yes, a food scale is great(was a lifesaver for me as well as an eye opener)0

I'm NOT sure where you got B from.0 -
Maybe you are losing inches without any change in weight.. did you take your body measurements?0

What you eat doesn't matter. It is consuming less calories than you burn. As long as you are doing that then just give it some time. It could be hormones or salt or anything making you not lose at first.0

Thanks everyone,, very helpful. I will tweak a few things,,, *drink more water somehow! * use a scale * watch my salt intake ( I was eating a can of progresso soup everyday,,,really killed my sodium intake) * more exercise on off walk days! Happy GroundHog Day and I will keep everyone posted!!0
