Blood type diets are a waste of time - eat what you like.20

Are bacon and egg "allowed" ?1

Or just eat in a deficit?5

Sounds silly. Blood types don't determine dietary needs.8

This.
As long as you're in a deficit, you'll lose weight, no matter your blood type.1 -

Blood type diet is BS. Eat according to your taste instead.5

Is this even a thing? Just curious, why would your blood type effect what you eat?2

Unless you're on a weight loss plan that involves getting all your nutrition via blood transfusions, your blood type is irrelevant to dieting.7

Just eat foods you like - but modify portions
A "blood type diet" restricts food choices. That's how they "work." Any type of diet that TEMPORARILY restricts what you eat will help you lose weight.
The problem with that is losing weight is just the first step. You have years (and years) ahead of you for maintaining the weight you lost....that's lifestyle changes not temporary ones.

Eat the food you like that fits your calorie goal and you will lose weight. You do not need a special diet because of your blood type.0

You might as well start eating according to your eye colour or shoe size or according to the weather6

I am blood type O as well. I looked that diet up once just to see how I ate compared to it. If I remember correctly I ate pretty close to what it said. Not that I would ever follow such a ridiculous diet. Eat what you like at a deficit and you will lose weight.0

Well the "Doctor" that came up with this diet is a naturopath with a black belt, according to his CV so that's good enough for me. BRB, off to get my blood typed.3

In the vein of everyone else telling you blood type dieting is ridiculous let me just add this -- I am type O and I have been eating bulgur, mung beans and lentils for lunch every day for the past year. I also have had cereal (with yoghurt) as a dessert pretty much every day as well. Now, according to that diet, over 50% of what I consume daily falls into the "limited" or "avoid" categories and yet I have lost over 50lbs
So... Yeah... Just something to think about6 -

I'll third this. It's a gimmicky diet based on peoples desires to get thin fast. Eat at a calorie deficit.0 -

For weight loss, all you need is a calorie deficit.1
