So, I've decided to log nothing and I actually started a little over a week ago.
Oddly enough, I think I'm eating less and not because I'm worried about it. It's forced me to pay attention to hunger cues, which I thought I was doing pretty well, even more than usual and I feel like I'm eating a bit less. Not sure of course since I'm not weighing anything...
But my average weight, which had been up over a pound consistently for over a month has come back down half a pound. So, I think I'm good!
I never minded logging, but I like not doing it even more!

I'm in! To avoid all the calorie hiding stuff, I am just keeping a carb tally on a piece of paper. My carb goal is <20 g net.

    Starting: 120.4
    End of month goal: 116ish
    <20 Net carbs

I keep looking at my calories. This is hard.

Also, I don't listen to my body when I eat nuts and overeat. I will ban nuts once I finish the bag. Yes, I'm finishing the bag. Don't judge me!

I have that problem with nuts too! I don't even buy them anymore because I have to make such an effort to control portions.

Same problem here! They are banned for this month for me too

My SW as of this morning was 132. Aiming to stay in my maintenance range, ~129-133.
I think my goal really is just to stay in maintenance range, and to get in at least 2/3 of the Wahls Paleo Plus recommended veggies/fruits per day (at least 3-4 cups). I may or may not track carbs and/or aim to stay in ketosis; I'll see how I feel and adjust as needed.

Technically, I am doing this too. I will be tracking for the rest of the burger challenge, but not restricting. This is how I always eat.

You know, this month isn't even fair for me. These are both my normal plans.

My goal is <30 carbs a day, which is what I did today, or I might have gone 2 or 3 carbs over if you're not counting net carbs.

Also, here's a list of foods that are low in carbs but high in potassium:

(note: according to other sources, a medium sized kiwi is only 10 carbs)

And a list of high potassium recipes, some of which are low carb or can easily be adjusted to be low carb. :)

Full support here! I dodge nuts, same reason. My helpful DH just gave me a bag full for my flight. Knowing it was something that I could eat. I shared half the cashews with him and put rest in glad snap lock bag for flight. Portion control! 100g bad but 250g inhaled would be worse. Only using them if the food (which looks low carb in pre select menu options) is not low carb or is sweet. DH was thoughtful enough to upgrade me to premium economy n select the seat with most leg room n the food with least carb. Love him.

Flight just pushed back n hit air bridge with wing. Maintenance technical specialists checking damage. This could be a long night, aside from the 11hr plus flight to Malaysia we've been over an hour on the ground here in The Netherlands so far.

@sunny_ bunny_. I want to be able to do what you are doing! I am starting today, I will be logging for my first few days for carb count only then I'm off logging until Friday weigh in. Nervous but excited about it. Good luck everyone

Best of luck to you! I have definitely been a hard core calorie counter and food weigher since I started almost a year ago. I've had to really work at my thought process when it comes to the scale and its value to me and fully trust the process. I think I've made a lot of progress with that and this is my natural next step.
I know that learning to eat when hungry and stilling when satisfied is a very important part of my lifelong health process and I'm going to listen to my body.
I hope it helps you to make that switch too!

I don't even think I have the confidence to do this yet. Probably a good reason to try. The scale has been a beast for me lately and I'm afraid if I'm not very careful it will just spiral out of control. Plus, I think it may cause me some anxiety. Maybe in a few months I'll feel better about it...baby steps. This month I'll just try to pay close attention to hunger cues instead of eating on a prescribed schedule. :)

It can be very, very hard to give up absolute control on intake when you've had a lifetime of failing every time you did that. It can be very liberating though.

I could definitely see that, I think when I do it successfully I'll be wildly happy about it. I am not a big fan of logging, but again, it seems like if I don't I regress. I blame my lack of conscious eating coupled with some girl issues (PCOS) for my finicky fluctuations. I'm doing well right now - only about 15 pounds from goal. Im terrified to jeopardize it lol.

Okay, I am still logging, mostly to watch my carbs but I think I will ONLY log my carbs from now as I am still looking at the total calories for the day. The hardest thing is being mindful of when I am actually hungry or am I just bored? I really want to learn this and be really comfortable with it so this is a great challenge for me :)

I haven't logged my food, daily, since July. When it got to where I wasn't learning from it anymore, I stopped. I've managed to continue losing (hallelujah!) without doing it! I always thought I couldn't lose successfully without logging, and I was wrong! This activity will give you more power over food too! Good luck to all who are undertaking this challenge! I'm routing for all of you!!

thanks @Karlottap. I want to have that power over food. Today will be my first day not logging at all. I am very nervous about it but excited also. I have found so far that I am eating a lot more fats to keep my snacking down. I am feeling better, more energy and better nights sleeping.

Somehow I'm already up 3 lbs since 3/31. :/ I think I might need to at least log carbs. Based on other factors, my weight should have stabilized or gone down a tad. Not feeling very confident about this so far. I think it might just be the timing for me, with already being in a stage of experimenting with gradually increasing calories and carbs to maintenance level.
