Calories and strength training

Why does this not give us credit for burning calories while doing strength training exercises?
I can lift until I am soaked with sweat and my heart rate is greatly elevated. I KNOW I am burning some serious calories.

If you want an estimated strength training calorie burn, log it under the cardio section.0

Just because it feels hard doesn't mean it's a big calorie burner, the rough estimate under the CV section is based on METS and will surprse you how modest the number is.0

You're probably not burning "serious" calories but strength training is listed under cardio. The number will probably be greatly overestimated but that's how you get the credit you're seeking.0

I think this topic comes up as often as the "should I count my calories for sex, heheheheheheh" topic.0

if being soaked in sweat was an indicator of caloric expenditure I'd be skinny already! (same with her=art rate, there's not a linear relationship between heart rate & caloric expenditure).
As other have mention, you can log in under cardio (look for strength) The number will probably be lower than you were expecting but take heart in the knowledge that you're doing something really good for you.

I usually just log 100 calories for a weightlifting session.0

You're typically not going to burn more than 100 calories in during a lifting session but that's not where the caloric burn comes from, it's in the repair and recovery which is already figured in. Go ahead and add it in if you feel like you really need to.0
