@ marioernesto.. google bike clubs in the LA area. A city this size should have more than one. They will list ride calenders and where they meet.

2nd. search out the closest bike shop to you. Most have a ride club and meet a couple days a week for rides.

Hope this helps and happy riding!!!

I may do this challenge. I used to ride 10-20 miles treks back in the days of yore (cough, my 20s, cough). I have not ridden since I got married and had kids. But they have just figured out how to ride bikes a few weeks ago, even with training wheels. So I just picked up a bike at a yardsale last weekend, needs to tires and some greasing but should work great! Hopefully will take it out for spin with my kids when this rain stops this weekend. Mother's day first riding adventure! Probably just to the school down the street and back, hahaha. Not sure how far my 3 year old will go.

Yesterday was one of those days that I just wanted to eat everything in sight. I heard someone talking about hot chocolate, and suddenly I wanted a hot chocolate, ect. So, by the time I was done with my snacky dinner, I had racked up quite a few calories. I had gone on a leisurely paced ride, but didn't burn too many calories. Ended up going for a late run and was able to hack away at all those extra calories I ate, and even had enough wiggle room for a nice healthy salad (which tasted great after so much snacking throughout the day).

    5/1- 30 miles
    5/2- 30 miles
    5/3- 15 miles

    Total: 75 miles
    Goal: 450 miles
    Remaining: 375 miles

@puglife456 I have had days like that. It just seems like you could eat everything in sight. I just chalked it up as one of those things that happen and just moved on. No words of wisdom about why or how to prevent another one. Glad you were able to overcome yours.

Yesterday was a short 3.2 round trip ride with my son to a scout meeting. I'm going to have to find time for longer rides if I'm going to even get close to my goal!

    5/3 - 3.2 miles

    Total - 13.2 miles
    Goal - 200 miles
    Remaining - 186.8 miles

Did 17.24 miles on the trail after work yesterday, and another 7.39 later that night with a friend cruising around town. The wind was brutal yesterday on my way to the checkpoint on the trail.

    Total: 24.63
    Remaining: 175.37

May "Photograph all the surrounding churches by bike challenge"

    3/5 - 5.6 miles indoor ( no churches indoors)
    4/5 - 5.7 miles outdoor

Today's route was obstructed by a forest fire - rare and very early for that to happen here - peat under the trees caught fire and I was rerouted by the fire brigade. Acrid smoke through the trees, very eerie, and low but powerful flames in the undergrowth.
So I went south instead and clocked this disused Methodist chapel from 1866, now a house, but the graveyard is still in use. egq0o2gb1cv1.jpg

Nice, I'll have to stop and shoot some images (I did a little last month mostly Infrared)

April wasn't a brilliant month for me in terms of exercise ... I had hoped to do one or two longer bicycle rides but sometimes life intervenes in the plans. April ended up being an incredibly busy month with a heavier-than-usual workload at work + assignments due at university + the final steps of my citizenship process. I wrote the citizenship exam and then my ceremony was on April 29 and I am now officially an Australian Citizen! :):)

May should be a calmer month, although I will be wrapping up the uni course I'm in so there will be work to do for that. Nevertheless, I hope for more kilometres than last May. :)
