Brown rice vs white rice

I switched into whole grain items when i started my weight loss journey. I am just having problems with one food. I really like rice with dinner but seem to not be digesting brown rice. Is white rice really that bad for you? I have some food sensitivity so rice is quite a staple food for me.

The difference between both is minute. 1 gram of fiber more in brown rice. Not significant enough to make a difference. Calories are basically the same.
Eat white if you like it.

Eat the white rice. There is barely any difference nutritionally between white and brown rice.3

I used to eat brown rice because "it was better for me".
Then I realised how similar they are nutritionally and I changed to white rice.
For me, it's more filling, tastier and quicker to cook. Win, win, win!6 -

There's no significant difference between the two. I eat white rice 4-5 days a week, and brown rice 1-2 times a month.0 -
Recently I tried white jasmine rice and really liked it! Try that too!3

As shown here per 1/4 cup serving, there is very little difference nutritionally between the two. Therefore I would eat whichever one you like best.

Jasmine rice is awesome!1 -
White.. because it doesn't take six days to cook.18

I pretty much only buy Jasmine or Basmati - occasionally I get forbidden rice. I'm not crazy about brown rice, but I'll eat it if it's the only choice.1

Yup. Eat what you like. They are basically the same. I like yellow saffron rice2

^ That article takes a much more sensible and scientific approach than the previous two. The other ones are basically "omgzzz processed foodz!" hysteria. They also significantly misstate/overstate the nutritional differences and fail to mention that GI is irrelevant unless a particular food is eaten in isolation from other foods.0 -

I only worry about flavor and quantity. I love white rice for most things including my asian dishes and sometimes I love seasoned wild or black rice as a side with a good lean stuffed pork chop or chicken breast.
When I buy regular brown rice I usually just get very irritated at how long it takes to cook even in the rice maker so I end up making it much less often and it slowly slinks to the back of the pantry not to be seen again for months1 -
I eat white rice. Eat what you prefer.0

Make sure the rice isn't rancid. Brown rice goes rancid much faster than white due to the extra oil in the brown.0
