@girlfighting50 Love how you have all this figured out and you are just going ahead and putting it all into practice. You are going to see such great results and your attitude to it all is awesome!
One of the hardest things is realizing that all the diet mentality we have been taught most of our lives is all upside down and we can change it!
That's why i love spreading the message and paying it forward so much, because once you realize, you want everyone to know! There is another way!
Glad you are finding your motivation and glad you are over on the EM2WL website too.

Not sure about having it all figured out, partly just going on faith and looking at other people's success. And it completely makes sense. If I want to change my body composition I have to grow something (muscle) and you can't grow anything by starving it. The gym I went to a year or so ago did a body composition analysis and said I needed to gain 12 lbs of muscle at minimum, and I've blocked out what they said about my body fat %. They just didn't give me much to go on as far as how to do it unless I wanted personal training. This is how I'm going to do it! Now off to do my strength training for the day!

Well, muscle sure loves food! Enjoy the strength training.

@girlfighting50 Just promise us you won't freak out when you start feeling hungry even though you are eating more than before. Growing muscle makes you hungry, eating helps muscle grow, the more muscle you grow the more you can eat and so on. I can't stop loving this cycle! By next summer you will see huge differences in your body composition if you stay consistent. It may seem like a long time now, but hey, time flies and will pass anyway!
Ichel is right, your mindset is on the right track.

Hi there! I'm excited to find this group! I was just starting to research TDEE and during a google search a post from this group popped up. I already had MFP so here I am. My name is Nicole and I'm currently 204 lbs. My goal is to become stronger, leaner, and less exhausted getting into my scuba gear. I'm not hung up on the scale but if I had to guess I need to lose 50 to 60 pounds. I've already started weight training with a trainer at my gym and he also has me at 1942 calories. I'm not sure if he's using TDEE or not, its through the program "dotfit" that my gym uses. I'm going to head back over to the EM2WL website and read now. Nice to meet you all!

I'll try not to. Right now at 1450 it seems like a lot sometimes. I'm working in higher calorie foods like full-fat yogurt and almond butter but I couldn't finish my dinner last night. Even with trying to eat smaller dinners (too much at night tends to give me heartburn). I'm looking forward to growing enough muscle that my body demands more fuel though, that'll be fun. I remember when I was (much) younger, I was always hungry and I ate what I wanted - but, I was growing. It was nice to just eat, not worry about it. I want to be there again!

Hi @aleryan1 Welcome to the group Nicole.
    So glad you found us.
Why not plug your info into this calculator http://eatmore2weighless.com/weight-loss-calculator/ and see if it gives the same numbers you are using at the minute with your trainer?
If there's anything you want to ask about after reading the EM2WL website, feel free to post here.

Thank you! I actually just did a little while ago and it was only 9 calories different on my cut and 20 calories different on my TDEE. Since it's such a slight difference I'll stick to what the trainer has me on. And I'm sure I'll have questions. I'm absorbing right now. So. Much. To. Learn!

@girlfighting50 keep increasing it slowly, you will get there! Someday its hard to reach my calories and some days I could eat the walls, lol. Those usually happen after a big lifting day.

@aleryan1 Welcome onboard! I'm glad you found us! By not being stuck on the scale you are already miles ahead, this is the right mindset! I love your goals!

Im so glad to hear you have a trainer who is doing it right! So many trainers dont have a clue about proper fuel for the body and they will put their clients on 1200-1400 cals. Sounds like you have a good trainer!!

That is so awesome @aleryan1 that your trainer and the calculator are pretty much the same!
Great to hear about a good trainer, there are plenty good ones out there but we tend to hear the negative ones louder!
Take your time with all the info, I know there is a lot!
Just try to make one change at a time and let that become habit before moving onto the next thing.
You are on the right track straight away.

Hi Cherelle @mzthickums03 Welcome to the group!
Best way to change your body shape while losing fat is to do strength training whilst eating at 30% protein. I don't know if you do already?
There are free workouts over on our website http://eatmore2weighless.com/category/workouts/ to help get you started.
