well - after carpet bombing you with the still-frames, how about some of the video...
(disclaimer: I'm old, fat, slow, and I had two stents fitted in my heart under a year ago, so don't take the pish out of how i'm riding - I'm still running rings around half the people who were in the Resus Ward when I was... of course they've either been burned or buried by now...)

Yuli Iron Bridge in Taiwan - one of the two bridges in the world that crosses two tectonic plates (the other is in Iceland). It is said that these two move towards each other by 1mm each year...? An interesting spot and quite a neat little experience

Took my Fixed gear bike out yesterday for her maiden voyage of distance. I tell you what, riding 27 miles on a fixed gear is a lot more challenging that riding 40 miles on a coaster bike....

From Pedal the Plains in SE CO. There were some beautiful spots. And some desolate spots

It's with quite a bit of sadness that I post these pics. They were taken about a month ago on a couple group rides. I pulled them up thinking it was time to re-visit this thread and post a few. As I downloaded them, I realized that the photo of the three bikers showed the first biker, a lovely 69-year old lady who could ride circles around me (god it would just kill me to have her whiz by me on hills, I swear I COULD NOT keep up) is no longer with us. She passed away last week from a completely unexpected stroke. I miss her so much. Her husband is in the first picture, laughing as he grabbed my "muscular" arm. I don't know when I'll see him laugh like that again. I take solace in that on the last day she was conscious, she was on a bike ride, doing what she loved. Enjoy every moment, my biking friends. Keep pedaling!
Linda, may you ride forever in the sun on gentle trails (she never did like rocks...):

Saturday, I rode over Mount Gaylor in the Boston Mountains in Arkansas- 42 miles with at least 3200 feet of elevation gain. Here's a few shots:

brilliant... love the post ride "dirt tidemark" shots as well, kind of sums it all up really...
what an idea for a ride though - scarborough-whitby and back - my 2 favourite east coast resorts, wonder if I can manage the round trip and still get back in time for fish and chips at the Magpie Cafe... make for a long day though - probably better for me to drive to Scarborough then ride up to Whitby and back - it's a bloody long drive round trip to Whitby compared to Scarborough - at least on the end of a bike ride like that...

If you start where we started from you can park for free. Parking in Scarborough is stupidly expensive! It's pretty much horses for courses though...
Whitby to Scarborough is a tougher ride than Scarborough to Whitby too IMHO. So at least the easier leg would be after a nice cafe stop in Scarborough (if you do it that way around.) Hardest bit of the day by far was the climb up to the Whale bone
Great day though! It'd be worth taking the camera too; the views around the top of Robin Hood's Bay were stunning!

last few times i've been to Scarborough it's been off-peak-season, and mid-week, and every time I've been able to get parked on-street, usually on the road that runs up the back of Peasholme Park, iirc it's called Northstead Manor Drive... first 1/4 mile or so is double yellows, but as you get into "B&B Territory" the lines peter out... might not be great for a bunch of riders, but for a solo effort it's usually do-able...1

So sorry to hear. I hope her family takes comfort in these last photos. I hope the husband still comes to ride or at least soon.
