Adding another 1 mile of running. Took a HIIT class where the warmup involved four laps around the track, then a lap between each set. Lack of oxygen caused me to lose count of the laps but I know 12ish equals a mile and it was at least that. I need to take classes with people who aren't so tall, young and fit as these people are, it's annoying when they all pass you by. The people walking on the track weren't too thrilled with a stampede rolling through every few minutes - except the two little boys with their parents yelling "Go!!"

Thanks for the well wishes everyone. The shoulder is a little better today than yesterday, but I'm not optimistic about the shot helping much. :|

Finally got out for a long ride this morning with my riding friend- almost 35 miles! That should get me to green for a little while!

Hang in there, healing will come. Don't go overboard like I have been doing recently. I have cause a few problems I did not after the accident.

Vuelta Solo challenge done and dusted. As battered and sore as I am, not sure how I did it. I guess sheer grit and determination to do it solo.

09/09 - 17.0 miles cycling (Vuelta Solo Effort Stage 19)
09/10 - 15.0 miles cycling (Vuelta Solo Effort Stage 20)
09/11 - 17.0 miles cycling (Vuelta Solo Effort Stage 21)

    Total: 155.0 miles

Sept. 11, 2001: The day I could have lost my now husband, but at the last minute was called to attend a meeting instead of heading on a path train into World Trade where he would have met with his locals in both buildings. Being a volunteer fireman, he would have stayed to help. Interestingly, he lived in the same small town of Cranbury, NJ as Todd Beamer who helped bring down Flight 93. God had other plans.

In my neighborhood, a friend and former colleague still lives. Her brother Ken was on Flight 11, the first plane to hit the towers. Her brother ironically was nicknamed by his fellow workers as 911 for always coming to the rescue when fellow workers were having issues with their projects.

May we never forget what happened that day.

Sept. 11: 16.25 miles of walking 9.25 miles and cycling 7 miles
    TTD: 168.3 miles

Just back from weekend with friend in Northern Ireland. Gutted I could not join her for usual morning power walks. Still very slow and limping...up to 27 miles this month now airport treks helped!

Never forget. My brother was stationed at the Pentagon that day. His office was in the area that the plane hit. Because the area was undergoing renovations, they had all been moved to other offices.

Adding 1 mile from running during Boot Camp class this morning. Hoping for more later, but right now I'm trapped in my bedroom while there is new carpet being installed in the upstairs hallway and staircase. I have to leave for an appt in 1.5 hours, so I may have to rapel off my balcony.

Adding to the 9/11 memories - I'm a NYer but was living in CA at the time. For some reason I always felt guilty about that. My brother started working in the Towers after the first bombing, but got laid off before the second one. One of his coworkers died, he had transferred to another company on one of the higher floors. One of my high school classmates lost his life as well. And back when I went back to school for my Bachelor's, I had to take the NY State Regents exams to be able to get my prior nursing credits validated. The exams were held on one of the top floors, 104th I think. I was up there for two days. I recently went up to the top of the Freedom Tower and it was very healing. Nothing will replace the originals, but I like the way the whole area respects those who died that day and the spirit of the NYers and American people who became stronger as a result.

Thanks to everyone that has shared personal stories of 9/11. Like @JUST_CECI, my then-wife's uncle also worked in the Pentagon on the side the plane struck, but an off-site meeting that morning kept him out of harm's way. But he lost many colleagues with whom he was very close to.
