Eating right isn't that complicated, it's just that many people get rich from telling us it is.

You are not going to aim for as few calories as possible, but eating the right amount for your body. Even if you want to lose weight. Eating right is easy, because it will feel good.

You can eat food you like. In fact, you should eat food you like. Trying to eat food you don't like, will make you feel miserable, and you will fail.

If you are eating mainly high calorie, low nutrient foods, you need to branch out. Learn to cook normal meals from real food ingredients. If you are just eating too much, you need to learn appropriate portions. It will take an effort, but it can be done, if you want to, an no suffering is required.

Use your food diary (here on MFP). Hit your calorie goal and your macro goals, and you will be on your way to eating healthy for real.

I'm not 100 percent sure if this is a question or a statement.

But for me to personally be successful I had to stop thinking that I could only eat "healthy" low calorie foods. Once I stopped thinking like that and more pushing towards a nice balance I stopped failing and started seeing change

For me nothing is off limits, everything in moderation. I refuse to to torture myself and not allow myself little pleasures in life. This was a lifestyle change for me.... not a all or nothing situation.
