I'm also 5'2" just turned 40 years old last week. I started December 1st at 225 lbs. Currently 154 lbs.
Using MFP and fitbit.
I want to loose another 15 lbs or so. But I've switched gears and I'm going for a. 5 lb a week or so loss goal. Doing a 1,000 calorie deficit for 9 months is enough and I want to focus more on really being in a rock solid pattern of eating appropriate calories in a day for how much activity I have. I am a stay at home mom of a child with special needs that requires a lot of care. I spend too much time sitting on the couch with her snuggled up sleeping on me.
I average around 15,000 steps a day, doing what I call living room laps. Walking and jogging inside.12 -

Happy Birthday! Your story hit home because I turn 40 in a week and I'm just...ignoring it? I'm not sure what I'm feeling.
No pics and I have a semi success story...42 pounds down. Started at 204, currently at 162. Originally wanted to lose 70 total but right now I'm focusing on getting stronger. 5'2"
I visit this thread every day though, it helps and sometimes I feel like I have such short, stumpy legs! It's SO good to see all of you inspiring ladies! Thank you and congrats to all on your success!5 -

@2013allen I hear you about wanting to get a new set of numbers. I dipped briefly into the 40s before my weight bounced back into the 50s. I'm very active too and consistent weight loss comes down to being very focused for a very long period of time. I took part of in a six week challenge where I committed to not eating out, sticking to my calorie goal, and journaling everyday. The challenge gave me the extra strength to say no to food pushers and myself when I felt out of sorts. I lost 14 pounds during that time and I have managed to keep it off. So don't give up hope. I think I will join another challenge in October. That should help me avoid Halloween candy madness. Good luck!3

I'm a little shorter than 5'2 I tend to hover around the 5' mark but seeing this makes me so happy. I have already lost about 11 lbs and about 3 inches from my waist and another 3 from my hips. It's amazing what such a small amount can do to a short persons body. I am starting off with a weight of 230 or so. I am currently at 219, which is what I weighed in February of this year when I had my check up. I can't wait to see how my body transforms when I lose all the fat. I'm looking to a goal of between 100-130 lbs. which would be about half of what I started off as.6

5"2. I started out 170 lb postpartum and now am 131 lb. moving house to my parents helped as I eat salads for lunch here. Also having a more active lifestyle since I'm not working now (I naturally got a lot of steps at work). If I fill up on fruit, eggs, tuna and veggies and walk 10000 steps a day, the weight comes off. Happy with all of my body now except my tummy. Partly I think coz I stress a lot and have cortisol buildup there. So far losing weight and exercise (mostly walking) has helped my stomach to decrease. My aim is to bee 125-128 lb.4

I started watching what I eat and exercizing on July 5th after hating how I felt and looked in a pic someone took of me. I was 9 months postpartum. Here's that pic before and now almost 3 months later I'm down 17lbs from 189 to 172. Excited and love my new lifestyle. Trying to reach my next small goal of 169

5'2 here. I started 13/9/16 at 101kg (222lbs) and am currently at 94.2kg (207lbs). My goal weight is 60kg (132lbs), but it may change as I get closer. It's so inspiring seeing other short ladies killing it, and I can't wait to post my own fabulous progress pics one day!6

@spikeyhair - Go you! I like that you set small goals.
@grain91 Are you taking pics? Not necessarily to show on here but in sports bra/undies? I started my journey in April and didn't take any pics until July. I WISH so much that I had. They are good to put side by side on the days you want to give up so you can see the change! Good luck!
@hithisisili you look like you've lost way more than 17 pounds! Nice work!1 -
I'm 5'3 and heaviest 190 (or the last time I had weighed myself at that time). (Bottom picture sitting down) But this was from my sister's baby shower and I hated this before picture with a passion bc I didn't realize I had gotten THAT big. I'm glad it's just a before picture now and I didn't stay that wast for long. I most often hovered around 170-160 (striped shirt picture) I was a yo-yo dieter and always gained it back. Now I'm the bottom red dress pictures. I achieved this by gradually changing my lifestyle instead of cutting things cold turkey. I realized a lot of the food I ate didn't make me feel very good either. I switched out and cut back over time and now here we are! It's been a year and a half not gaining any weight back! I've either maintained or lost the whole time which is unheard of for me. I've also been working out for the past 5 months and have baby stepped it the whole way as well. I'm the healthiest I've ever been!

I'm 5'1. I started out at around 235 lbs (16.78 stone, 107 kg). I weighed myself at the dr's office a year before starting my weight loss plan. I was 230. I'm quite certain that I gained 5-10 lbs during that year. So I have NO IDEA of how heavy I got. I started on MFP in January of 2014. I did know what I was doing. Some days I was only eating 800 calories. After doing a lot of research, I upped my calories to 1200. Eventually, I found out how much I was actually supposed to be eating by using the IIFYM calculator. I worked out 5-6 days a week. I did mostly cardio and my weight routine only include 3lb weights. As I gained more knowledge, I added more lift days and heavier weights. I plateaued around 160 lbs. (73 kg. 11st 2lbs). Then I hired an online trainer. I started working out even harder and longer. I lost and an additional 25-30lbs. I think the key is to gradually cut out unhealthy food. I found delicious healthy recipes online. It takes awhile to get used to but I promise it gets a lil better. I really love the MFP forums because you gain more knowledge, you get to see similar people share their stories & people are supportive. I didn't have any support or guidance until I hired the online coach. It wasn't easy but perseverance, persistence and patience eventually pays off.40 -

Hello all -
I started my weight loss journey on 9/10/16. I have a pretty active lifestyle during the week walking my son 3.5 miles to school each day. On 3 of those days, I walk an additional 2-2.5 miles. Because of this activity, I eat around 1450 calories per day and try to cook most of those meals.
I typically eat 1 serving of processed carb/day (usually a slice of whole grain bread), the rest is fruit, veggies, nuts, eggs & meat. I also use whole fat diary as a condiment only. I love shaved Parmesan cheese, because it packs a flavor punch.
Please feel free to add me!5
