Can someone tell me if the BMR for fit bit charge seems accurate to them? Mine is telling me my BMR is 1340. I'm a 39 y/o female, 5'5" tall weighing 150 pounds. Your sites I look at tell me it's around 1800. Any insight would be appreciated.

BMR is what you would burn if you did nothing all day, basically laying in bed all day. Mine is practically the same (1360 for 41yr 5'5" female 136lbs). The 1800 is most likely not BMR. MFP tells me that my maintenance calories are 1790 so that's most likely what your 1800 is.

Fitbit tells you what your total burn for the day is (not BMR), basically TDEE. Currently mine says 1637 because I have been very inactive today.

    That makes sense. Thank you.

BMR. I just got a new one today after losing my old one and was playing around with it repairing calories in v. calories out and noticed it was around 1339 for all previous days. After clicking on a few buttons it basically told me this was my BMR. I guess it just seemed low.

From your "dashboard" tap on the calories button at the very top. Since mine just started being active today I noticed that all the previous days were the same. If you click on the button in the middle it will tell you how fit bit calculate calories. I hope that helps.

the calories in the dashboard can be edited. that doesnt mean thats what your BMR is. I manually was able to change mine. thats how many calories you want to burn per day. I checked my android app and the website and yeah thats how much it has you set to burn. I have mine set to burn 2200 calories, no way in heck is my BMR 2200 ,neither is my TDEE(calculators state its higher but with my metabolic issues its less than that)
