    We eat black eyed peas for good luck in the south. During the war between the states the invading federal army burned and pillaged all food products so as to punish and starve those in the south. They ignored the black eye peas, what the Yankees called cow peas. This was the food staple that the south was able to survive on.

    Think of it like split pea soup lol. I have texture issues so it's the only way I can eat beans lol.

    Think of it like split pea soup lol. I have texture issues so it's the only way I can eat beans lol.

    I have some texture issues with food myself, so I get that.. :)

    I hate things like boiled okra and boiled peanuts, collard greens, cooked spinach, cooked kale, things like this.

    I am ok with the black eye peas, chili beans, kidney, and pintos (I like chili with beans).. most other beans and peas I do not even eat at all.
