Any of you guys know of a good USA sourced beef jerky other than the mass produced ones in supermarkets? I'm on the hunt for something from a small company that might be local to one of you guys.

i make it in the fridge. well, i make biltong. i don't eat jerky so idk what the differences are.

you just dredge the meat with rock salt and let it sit for a while to draw out as much blood as possible, then rinse the salt off with vinegar and roll the meat in whatever seasoning. it dries out in the fridge if you lay it on cookie racks. since what i make is biltong, the seasoning is a cracked mixture of peppercorns and coriander.

Epic Provisions makes a beef jalapeno cherry jerky bar that's really good. It used grassfed, humanely-raised meat & is actually soft and chewy instead of leathery like a lot of jerky bars are. They make some bison ones that are really good too!

Thanks. I just checked out their site and was disappointed to see that they use MSG in most of their products.

I am a beef jerky junky....I have tried so many it's almost sad. The best I've had is Goldrush by Medina Foods out of Litchfield, Ohio. It's better from their store or nearby vendors, insanely tender but meaty but when I order online it's still amazing. The black pepper one is my fav.

House of Jerky is my personal favorite. They have a few store locations scattered around the US (mostly east coast), but you can also order online. I recommend the Sweet & Spicy. The more exotic varieties are worth checking out too -- the wild boar and venison jerkies are outstanding, and the alligator jerky is surprisingly tasty!

I make my own. I take orange juice, pepper, salt and cayenne and place the cut up meat in a zip lock bag and place in the refrigerator for two days. Then i have a big Chief smoker and smoke it. Yummy

Yeah, we have Krave in our supermarkets. It is really good for mass produced. Only have a couple of flavors around here though.

Thanks for that. I sent a message to them. Just want to make sure they don't use MSG.

my favorite is damngoodjerky.com when the boys were deployed i would ship them 10 pounds every couple of months so they always had some to share.

their death by jerky and black pepper are fantastic, the hickory is just great.
