And then, rather than taking an uber home, I decided to run the extra 3 miles back to my house. All before 7 am. Holy crap! Who is this chick???? If someone had told me a year ago that this was what would happen on my next birthday, I would have choked on my vodka tonic. Change can happen, you are never too old to try harder, be stronger, live greater. Have an awesome day!!!
Happy birthday! And congrats!4 -

While this might not be too huge of a NSV its amazing for me, as I have a mental block (not sure why still trying to figure that out) about the size 14, every time in the past when I got to a 14, I started to self sabotage, and this time wasn't any different, but I was determined to persevere and I did.
Me too! I have done this same thing at size 14 to the 12.....dang....but onward we go right??? Good on both of you!!!!
WOAH. I've totally been doing this and only half admitting/realizing it. I think I was just telling myself "my 2nd baby is one now and I don't lose fat well while breastfeeding also I want more kids so I guess this is all I'm gonna get for now."
NOPE. We're going allllll the way!13 -
I ran a 5K this morning. My previous best was 25:10.
Crushed it.
New personal best - 24:35. That's a 7:55 pace. I've done a sub 8 mile before but never a sub 8 pace. And on top of it all, I RAN NEGATIVE SPLITS!
Kinda feeling like superman right now.35 -
In honour of my latest "scale victory" - hitting the 60lbs lost mark today - I did another sweep of my closet this afternoon and tried everything on. I ended up removing some items that are really too big now, or that fit but simply aren't flattering. I did keep some things that fit well but don't look as good as others... those are now at the back of the closet for emergencies, until they too get shrunk out of!
I was also in a bit of a panic earlier this morning as I had an interview at short notice. I was trying to add some elastic to my dress pants that are loose enough to slide down, in an effort to keep them up well enough to wear. It just wasn't working (didn't look good at all) and I was running out of time. In desperation I pulled on a smaller pair of pants that had needed a "button extender" last time I tried them, figuring they'd have to do. They fit perfectly and I could even sit down in them without discomfort! I rocked them and a shapely shirt that I also haven't worn in years at my interview, and felt very confident.36 -

Down a size in jeans! I have retired the jeans I bought after having my son in 2014. That feels good!20

I have many NSV's to report:
1. I took my second scheduled diet break and it was fine. I'm back logging no big deal. I was really worried about it because this is the longest I've stayed on a diet plan in my entire life. Beat my old record of 6 months. Oh, that's another NSV!
2. I got my bike out and was riding around the block to check that everything was in working order after being in the shed since August. On a whim I decided to try taking it up the steep hill through my neighborhood that I couldn't get up last summer. I huffed and puffed a little, and my quads were on fire, but I made it to the top.
3. I went to the doctor this week and instead of the usual lecture about my weight, the assistant looking shocked when my BP was normal, and being sent for labs for all the usual obesity related illnesses, my doctor told me since I was under 40 and had a healthy lifestyle there was no need for labs.
4. I am also experiencing the it feels funny when I sit down issue. However it has gone from, ouch, my butt bones to what the heck am I sitting on. Apparently adding on hip thrusts to Stronglifts was a good move and I have some serious butt bone padding glutes now. I went for an 8 mile bike ride today after being off the bike for months and my butt wasn't even sore.25 -
I went to the gym two days in a row and am going for a short walk today. Never in a million years did I think I could stick to a fitness plan but I am!20

I can't believe I did it! I jogged 20 minutes nonstop (week 5 day 3 of C25K)! Miracles happen32

Also- this view beats the treadmill hands down!
It sure does! In my mind, any time spent outside is a thousand times better than inside. It's all about the senses.....the smells, the sounds, and of course, the views8 -

This is stupid. Pretty dumb, actually. Not weight-related at all, but fitness-related
But a few years ago, I got very sick. I had just returned to college full-time, was working two jobs plus a side gig or two, hardly slept, had huge medical problems (that were misdiagnosed as a terminal illness), drank a lot of alcohol (I mean... wouldn't you?), and had no concept of balance because there was no other option- finish my college education, and support myself. What was I supposed to give up?
Yesterday I saw a girl who had last seen me on New Year's of 2015, when I was arguably at my worst, and we went to King's Dominion. I'm still within 5 pounds or so of what I was then, but right now I'm also being treated for tuberculosis. I should look like death, honestly. I lost 6 pounds last week because my diet has gotten so restricted, I'm exhausted all the time, and the new meds I'm on are giving me an awful time. But she could hardly believe it was me because I apparently LOOKED so much healthier than back then! Apparently I have brighter skin, my eyes look less sunken, and I could actually walk around the park for 4-5 hours before I began to get tired, rather than get tired after an hour of watching TV.
Just reminds me that right now I am in the best place, mentally, to lose weight in years. Reminds me evenMOREso that health is not just physical, but mental and emotional as well.29 -

I walked 3700 steps yesterday. A few months ago I had to be wheeled through an airport. I am SO HAPPY!76

Going out for my birthday tonight. Saying no to popcorn during the movie today. I'll have 1000 calories to spend tonight - which isn't always much at a restaurant! - and that'll be the best I've done in awhile!23

I cleaned out my closet and found cute clothes buried in the back that fit me, even slightly big.. I have to keep digging because I know the even smaller sizes are way in the back.23
