I'll catch up on my distances in a little bit, but thought I'd just post this for now ... :)

Saturday -- My husband and I decided to do a relaxing ride on Bruny Island today.

We took the ferry over to the island, and started the ride with a climb. I was testing new shoes and whenever I get new shoes, the whole cleat thing is always a pain. I thought I had it right, then second guessed myself and changed it ... and so on and so forth ... and it was wrong. So at the top of the hill, my husband "shoed"? "shod"? me. :D And we finally got it right.

    The ride continued!

With shoes and cleats that worked, I actually attempted climbing some hills standing up. I haven't done that in a long, long time! It's a bit of work! I could be stiff tomorrow working a set of muscles I haven't worked recently.

Two rain storms came through ... one just before we reached our turn-around town, and we missed it. And one while we were in our turn-around town, and we missed it because we were having a relaxing lunch under shelter. That one was accompanied by thunder!

So it was a good ride. And nice to not really have much in the way of schedules and deadlines. :)

    Distance: 74.5 km
    Elevation: 640 m
    Moving Time: 4:21:31
    Elapsed Time: 5:45:08
    Speed: Avg: 17.1 km/h | Max: 51.1 km/h
Heart Rate: Avg: 135 bpm | Max: 178 bpm

Promising start to the month - finally the wind has died down and the sun has come out so a series of firsts:
First ride over 50 miles this year.
First ride this year on my carbon wheeled bike.
First ride in mitts not gloves.

Going to aim for 600 miles in April and see about entering my first Audax event of the year in early May.

    MTD:
    4 Hours - 59 miles - 3 Personal Records - 2 Activities

    YTD:
    59 Hours - 998.5 miles - 52 Personal Records - 61 Activities

Absolutely glorious weather for cycling in Southern England this weekend so did a little fittest/endurance test to help me decide what event to enter in early May as my first Audax or the season - options are 100 or 130 miles.

Over 100 miles this weekend but felt fatigued on the last 20 miles so will go for the shorter event. Quite pleased to average over 17mph though.

    MTD:
    12 Hours - 204 miles - 9 Personal Records - 7 Activities

    YTD:
    67 Hours - 1143.5 miles - 58 Personal Records - 66 Activities

According to Strava, as of now I'm at 93 miles for the month. It was a slow week due to getting a power meter installed, tested, and usable. But I still got a nice 40mi in today, and that felt awesome.

Now, this week I get to practice clipping into the power meter. That was throwing me off pretty badly today.

April has been a washout for me, prior to this morning. I had hoped for more, but I'm revising my target down to 300 miles.

Finally off the mark, after a mare of a month:

Sat 01 - missed planned ride
    Sun 02 - rest
Mon 03 - missed planned ride
Tue 04 - missed planned ride
Wed 05 - missed planned ride
Thu 06 - missed planned ride
Fri 07 - missed planned ride
    Sat 08 - rest
    Sun 09 - rest
Mon 10 - missed planned ride
    Tue 11 - 23.8 miles: MTD 23.8 / 300, YTD 1072.94 / 4000

I've fallen a bit off the pace for the year target, but I'm not too worried about that - the big miles should come in June to August, I wasn't expecting much more than to not get too far behind

I'm super addicted to my exercise bike, can I join in this thread ... I don't ride a road bike because I have balance issues and riding a real bike terrifies me - I love exercising biking though.

I do 30 minutes H.I.I.T cycling every other day, on the days in between I do weight training, so I guess I cover some cyber mileage ... my profile picture is me on my exercise racer bike lol

There's nothing wrong with using a trainer! It's how I got through the winter. I hate being cold, and really didn't want to give up such an awesome pastime. Welcome aboard!
