What nobody tells you about losing weight

That my dry-elbow problem would go away!! Before, they'd be super dry, cracked and scratchy. But now: just normal, nobbly but moisturized elbows! Maybe because I drink more water...?12

This ^^^ also I have semi permanent eyeliner and it was looking great til I lost weight, now it appears to be disappearing completely... still I'll take the weight loss over eyeliner!
Me three!! Suddenly I was able to wear eye makeup without it smudging. People are suddenly telling me how pretty my eyes are... I don't think you could see them before under my fat eyelids LOL10 -
How irritated you would get with people who 'hunt' for parking spots when you're in the car.
It's like, what difference does it make? There's a parking spot right here just take it. Why do we have to circle the lot for ten minutes because you're sure we can find one much closer. I just want to get out of the car *I whine in my whiniest voice ever.* Even if we park in the very last spot it's at most a 2 minute walk. We'll live.38 -
that I would crave more weight loss... a new found addiction.15

So when I was in high school I was pretty severely anorexic and I lost 70 lbs in 4 to 5 months. Even though I was underweight I was never happy. I was cold and sad and weak.
Now at 22 I've recovered and had a baby which caused me to gain it all back. I'm eating a balanced diet with enough calories and working out. My weight loss is definitely much slower but I feel so much better about myself than I ever did then. I know the confidence factor has been mentioned quite a few times but for me specifically, being healthy has really been helping my confidence more than just weight loss ever has.
Then, too, I love the feeling of no longer modifying moves in my work outs! Especially when i go from not being able to do something on day to being able to the next.

I had not taken any new pics of myself in my glasses because I only wear them for driving and shopping. I caught myself in a security video while at the store and noticed how different my glasses looked. I had to come home and do a comparison pic. Another 50 pounds and I'll need some tiny glasses to go with my tiny head.
amazing transformation!!! you like like your own daughter!!!
You have wonderful cheekbones!!
Thank you! Nobody told me I would come across before and after pics of myself on the forums and the shirts in both pics would be in the give away bin. I miss that sweatshirt.19 -

Right! We moved to the suburbs so my husband stole my Fit for commuting. Now I'm driving this big truck everywhere and for whatever reason Reno has tiny parking spots, so I always head to the big empty area in the back of the lot. It's so funny, because a year ago I got mad at my husband for parking in the back of the slightly uphill lot at Costco. Now I'm like I have to walk all over the store anyways. How does walking to the back of the lot make any difference? The only difference is my attitude.33 -
TMI alert.
My poop smells different.14 -
That I would be trying out how to train for a 7k in an elevation that is 3000 feet higher than where I live, or that I am possibly thinking of doing a half marathon (Even if it is just walking.)19

Hihi. I drive my mom crazy by picking the space furthest from the store entrance. On purpose. Her fault for coming to the store with me.
I guess no one ever told me that I'd actually enjoy walking that much and find excuses to go walk even more. It really is a question of attitude.18 -
That you wouldn't always need to do the *deep breathe*, hold in stomach, yank trousers together to get them to do up.
I did this today and realised that in no way did I need to! it is a really hard habit to break though!
Also that mates would be describing me as sporty. I am still the girl that got poor marks throughout school in PE and hates moving thank you very much. Never mind the swimming, squash, classes and soon to be Zombie C25K I do - that's not the 'real me'........yes, yes it is now! Tis cool, but very weird to have it laid out that actually I can and do move way more than most of my mates who are a healthy weight.26 -
How short a time-frame clothes will fit you.
I'd saved all my clothes as I grew out of them. Now that I'm going back down, I get to wear new 'old' clothes. The problem is that I only work in the office two days a week now and that's not long enough to wear everything before it's too big.
Monday I couldn't figure out why I felt so fat and frumpy even though I had just had a nice loss...then I looked in the mirror and realized my shirt was too large and shapeless. It was only the second time I wore it.22 -

True. Except when I have all four kids with me. Parking lots = possible heart attack trying to keep eyes on the 7&5 yo while chivvying on the slow poke 3 yo and either hefting the "walk! Walk!" Screaming 18 mo (plus any bags) or trying to corral /shove him in the right direction/run after him as he escapes while I try to hurry the 3 yo. That's why I'll hunt for a spot by the door or the cart corral--parking lots plus distracted drivers = nightmare.24 -
Just lost a shoe size! I can put stuff in my cute winter shoes/boots, but sandals are falling off. Need to go shopping...16

That I think is a legit reason to try and keep the time outside of the car on the parking lot as short as possible...14 -

I've gotten very good at chucking old clothes that are too big (I hate feeling fatter than I am! and nothing makes it worse than too big clothes). Too good in fact. Remind me to take a picture of my wardrobe once I've finished the ironing, the shortening/retailoring of those things where it's possible and put everything I own away. One shelf for workout clothes/pajamas/undershirts. One shelf for sweaters and t-shirts (long and short sleeved). One bar (50cm wide) to hang blouses, dresses, jackets, 'nice' t-shirts, and pants.
My workout-clothes section used to be a half stack wedged somehow in the far back of the wardrobe. Now it's two full stacks with summer/winter variations of both. The undershirt section grew to a frightful size as well (I'm always cold ) and includes a size down since I hate undershirts that are too large. They need to be skin tight to feel good. I tend to buy new ones every time they're on sale (2x per year) and I outgrow the current size ones at a frightful pace.
I have a entire stack of blouses and jackets waiting for the sleeves to be shortened and the waist to be taken in, along with 2 pairs of jeans I'm going to turn into summer shorts since they'll be too big by fall anyhow. They're already on the 'too big' side of life. Nearly all other jeans I own suddenly need to be shortened by about 2cm as well... what gives legs? Did you shrink on me?. And why is it that sleeves that were on the 'almost too short' side of life are now suddenly so long that it looks like they're eating my hands?
Oh and... I hate ironing, but since losing weight, I tend to buy pretty/cute dresses and blouses that demand ironing. I used to select clothes based on the ironing unnecessary criteria. Never thought that would happen20 -
Just lost a shoe size! I can put stuff in my cute winter shoes/boots, but sandals are falling off. Need to go shopping...
Such a chore
I almost threw a party when I lost a shoe size. My feet are still huge, but I can now find shoes in normal shoe shops instead of needing to special order or go to specialty shops (with the equivalent price tag associated.) My shoe collection when from 3 pairs to about 15 pairs...18
