    Most trips:
[1] Meat (whatever I'm low on/in the mood for to eat in the next week...usually lean ground turkey or beef, chicken thighs or a rotisserie chicken, or fairly lean smoked ham, or turkey hot dogs to chop up).
    [2] Yogurt
[3] salad greens and/or soup vegetables and/or entree vegetables and/or veggies for rice & beans
[4] replenish when needed: oats (either quick rolled or steel cut)
    [5] replenish when needed: beans
    [6] Eggs

    diet pop
    brown rice
    tinned chicken
    tinned tuna

    low cal yogurt
    whipped cream spray
    cottage cheese
    light cheeses

packaged dinners of various sorts - esp Indian and Mexican

There's probably more but that's all I can think of at the moment.

I don't buy anything especially for weight loss because that's not how it works, I pretty much eat the same as I always did just less of it. My must buys for a normal week would be, anything else depends on what I've planned in for the week and what I have prepped in the freezer.
    • Pack of large chicken breast from the local butchers
    • Berries or Bananas for my weetabix topping
    • Broccoli
    • Eggs
    • Pancetta
    • Mini Dairy Milk Bars
    • Protein Milk
    • Orange Juice

I like eggs but have difficulty eating egg whites.....I do not know, just something about the white part

In scramble or omelettes I use 1-2 whole eggs with a few extra whites so I get the protein up without so much fat. I can't do all whites, I think the texture is yuck.

We fill the cart at least half way in the produce section and try to eat all the vegetables before they spoil so we don't throw any away. Just today we bought: spinach, lemons, limes, cherries, oranges, carrots, celery, lettuce, red and green bell peppers, radishes, parsley, summer squash, onion, garlic, mushrooms (white and portobello). This is a fairly typical weekly haul.

The fridge already had red cabbage, green cabbage, ginger root, beets, potatoes ... The freezer has corn, green beans, lima beans, edamame, mixed veg, cherries, blueberries, apricots, pineapple, rhubarb and cranberries in it.

The Harvard Healthy Eating Plate says half your plate should be full of vegetables, other sources recommend eating 5-7 servings of fruits and vegetables each day. We strive toward that.
