Progress!
Met 5 of 5 goals today! Hope the rest of the week goes the same.0 -
My goals for the week were to reduce sugar intake and sodium intake. I have been doing good so far. As far as my weight, I do think that on Monday I will be down at least 2 pounds.0

Keep up all the hard work everyone. We CAN do this!!0 -
well I did the Biggest Losser walk away the lbs 1 mile and took new dogs for a couple leisurely potty breaks since weather has cooled off a bit here in Midwest. not so great on food today:noway:
so 1/2 hour of my 3 hr workout goal and holy crap it's Thursday!!!
also picked our blackberries tonight with help from my son. froze about 1.5 Quarts for making jam later.0 -
Checking in a few days late.
My goals Weekly Goals Progress:
1. Write down what I eat every day, (and not several days at once).
Every day
2. Exercise at least 3 times a week at the gym.
Only 2 times this week. I had a few dr. appts after work.
3. Drink at least 48 oz of water a day.
Did drink water every day, but not enough every day.
I think I may have lost about 1/2 a pound this week. I changed my activity level to reduce my calories. Not sure how I will do with the adjustment this week.
Today a new day! (And I need one after last night, LOL)
Will be at the gym tonight for about 2 hours, some with my trainer.
Have a good weekend everybody!0 -
I've missed a few days checking in on my goals this week. :blushing:
Sometimes that's a sign they've not been great days....
W, Th, Check in:
Water- check!
Daily Workouts - check!
Choices of food? - fail! Which at times results in no logging or only partial because the day slips away and I lose track of what all I've eaten. Not sure what's been going on exactly to make me fall off track on choices...but way too much sugar/salt, well basically it boils down to too much of the Simple Carbs in my days recently!
Friday - not enough cals in yet for the day and I'm feeling it BUT I'm back on track and haven't eaten any of the foods dancing in my head from earlier. So tough when you pick up the junk to get back on track again. I do realize though that I now jump back on track far sooner than I did in the past (Progress..YAY!) but I don't like how it feels to feel out of control emotionally when eating less than healthy foods.
So I'll check back in at the end of tonight or in the A.M for today's progress.
So far I have gotten in a great workout and am doing well on my water, checked in with you all and when I finish my food diary for the day I'll check back here.
I love this group , we can share honestly how things are going and the others of us most definitely understand, it's a wonderful thing to not feel alone in this lifestyle change! Makes getting back up and on track so much easier:drinker:
You all are the B ST.... I miss Dee and am thinking only positive thoughts for her and her family.:smooched:0 -
Friday check-in.
1. Log progress everyday
2. Decrease fat intake by 20%
3. Drink 64oz. water everyday
4. Take a brisk 30 minute walk 5/7 days
5. Increase daily ab crunches to 6 reps of 25
I didn't walk 30 minutes today, more like 15, but I did a good stationary bike for 30 minutes. I also did 8 reps of 25 ab crunches today, boy am I feeling it! I did reach my other goals again for today, so all in all I have had a good week. I was a bit disappointed that I only lost 2lbs this week, but plan to do better next week.0 -
Kris - Hope you got in a little workout time today. Keep on pluggin away you are doing great. YUM to homemade blackberry jam. I live in the midwest too. I'm missing the hot. I love the hot.
Stephanie - Great job with the logging keep it up. Each day is a new day, and we are always happy to see you back here with your great attitude. Have fun at the gym burn up some calories, show them whose the boss.
Hearts Desire - I know how it goes, when you've had a bad day and you don't want to log or check in. But it's ok, check in or no check in we are here for you Looks like you are doing pretty good with water and works outs, nicely done. Keep on working on the food choices, you'll get there. But it sounds like you are doing great and picking up today and heading in the right direction. I love this group too. It really is amazing to have a place to go to share NSV's, SV's, where someone will pick you up when you need it, and you cna pick someone up when they need it. It really is a fablous bunch we got here.
Danelyh - You ROCKED your goals. WAY TO GO! Your doing great. And a 2lb loss is pretty awesome. Keep it up!
Friday check in -
1. Daily check in. Stop in an see how everyone is doing. - HOWDY
2. Week 8 of P90x - today was Yoga - got my workout in nice and early.
3. 3 non-p90x work outs - sadly missed again today. This week life has been getting in the way of non P90X workouts. But that's the way it goes. There's always next week.
Tomorrow morning (bright and early) I'm heading out of town with my family. I'm planning on getting my workout in before we leave. I'll try and check in can't promise I will be able to, but I will try. But everyone keep on reaching for those mini goals. Let's finish this week out STRONG!! :flowerforyou:
Have a great weekend everyone.0 -
Hello everyone!
So this close to the end of my second week, and I would say that this week was much more of challenge than last week. I've been super stressed out at work, and by the time I get home at night (late 3 nights in a row) I'm too burned out to even turn on my computer, so no Wed or Thurs night check-ins. I got a gentle reminder from one of my friends to not get into the bad habit of not logging everything for the day, so I'm back for a recap check in.
Wednesday
1) logged everything
2) no night check in worked late
3) better choice: no fries/onion rings with grilled chicken sandwich for lunch
4) sodium was 565 over--grilled chkn was way too high
Thursday
1) logged everything but not til Fri morn
2) no night check in again too much talking about work stress & algebra tutoring til midnight (tutoring made me feel better)
3) better choice: swam for 45 minutes
4) sodium actually 248 under! never thought it would happen
Friday
1) logged everything--grudgingly including step-mom's birthday cake/ice cream; only way to stay under calories is to do elliptical before bedtime and earn them back
2) checking in again finally! Woo HOO!
3) better choice...took a right turn away from the Del Taco that I was emotionally craving towards a slightly less terrible Taco Bell Fresco burrito (not a perfect choice but a tough one today)
4) sodium--forget about it; almost 1500 over between burrito and italian dressing on a chef salad. Gah!
So there it is. Tomorrow will be a better day. It's great to come back and realize that whether I've had a good week or a bad week or a half and half blah week, this group is so supportive and inviting.
Thank you MAK for keeping up with everyone. You rock! And CONGRATULATIONS on making it past your halfway mark!! I was so excited when I saw that tonight
Ok, goodnight all!

Good Morning Everyone!
Missed my check-in yesterday, but had a good one calorie-wise. However, no exercise which was my goal so I'm disappointed in myself. Off for another long ride to the next campground, but wanted to let everyone know that they're doing great, whether successful or not with the goals we are all sticking together and reporting in, which is the important thing. I know I couldn't do it without you guys :drinker:
Have a WONDERFUL weekend:flowerforyou:0 -
I just had a serious talk with myself after stalling with no working out and no food tracking for a few weeks. I've set the goals of:
1. Working out 1 hour a day.
2. Food Tracking everyday and staying as close to calorie goal as possible.
I'm on day 3 and am 3 lbs down on the scale...this just means my time off was more water weight than fat, I never lose weight that fast and now have to settle in for the long haul. Thanks MFP, for the motivation, I'm off to 24 hour fitness for the body sculpt and my 3rd day of 1 hour a day in exercise.0 -
Friday Checkin
Track Food - done
Exercise 3/week - 1st workout done on Friday
46 oz of water - pretty sure I did at least that much, or maybe more
Much better day than Thursday0 -
Just checking in for the day (should be working on my paper.). I need a site like this for that, maybe then I would get things done.
Can anyone tell me what the posts "bump" mean?
Thanks.
I went out to Longhorn tonight. I am glad that I slept in and didn't really need to eat 3 meals today. (And that was eating only half of my steak and potato).
I logged today, and I haven't drunk all my water yet, but plan to.
Exercise is planned for tomorrow.
Have a good night.0 -
Hearts desire, we all have days like those. That's what make us human.
Mak, enjoy your trip!
About to head to bed before driving home in the am. Fun vacation. Here are my goals and progress.
1. Watch the sodium intake. Staying in a hotel, we have no choice but to eat out everyday. This may be hard. -had one really bad day, but otherwise not too over.
2. Drink lots of water. Normally this isn't a problem, but on vacation I'll need to be extra viligent due to sodium intake and a small hotel fridge. --did great with this!
3. Pack and use as many healthy snacks as possible. -hmmm, did pretty good with this.
4. Swim in the hotel pool or ocean everyday, especially since I'm not taking any exercise DVDs or equipment with me. --done!!!
5. Keep logging. Gotta keep up with mak. ;-p0 -
hi! errm.. I was wondering if I would be able to join for the next challenge?
This seems very interesting, i'd like to see if i can do it :d0 -
Saturday night check in!
1) logged everything--even got swim time in, so under calories
2) checked in before bedtime!
3) better food choice of the day--ordered tortillas and salsa instead of chips with dinner (I would have totally gone overboard with chips)
4) watch sodium--wow...so far over the mark, I can't even imagine how much water I'm going to have to drink to flush it out. Gah! This goal is much more intimidating than I first imagined it would be.
Hope all you vacationers/travelers out there are having a fabulous time. For everyone else--enjoy the rest of your weekend!
Night all--jenn0 -

Not like I'm an official group leader or anything, but I would say, "Jump right in!" This group is really supportive. You won't be disappointed, and you'll feel very welcomed. I've only been here 2 weeks, and reading everyone's posts just feels like a big hug!0 -

I am day 4 of meeting all goals, return back to work after a week off, so will have to really focus on finding the will and time for my exercise goal. I had a thorn/rose moment at the gym yesterday. I go to the body sculpt hour at 24 hours, been going to the same class since February. Missed a few weeks and got there after all the slots had been filled. We used to be able to attend the class and follow along with hand weights....I was turned away at the door.....and I tell you I lost all motivation and could have just walked o-u-t...out! But, I recovered and landed on an elliptical, put in 30 minutes and then finished with weight machines which I usually avoid because I'm not very familiar with them. The rose moment is I still broke a sweat and finished my goal hour of exercise for the day....yes, there was a glass of red wine last night in celebration.0

Good for you!!!! Didn't that make you feel like you were in control and making wise choices. Shows that setting weekly goals makes it easier for them to become habit - Congrats!!
Welcome to our new members...we are very happy to expand this group and wish you much success :drinker:
Goals for me: Still on camping vacation until Saturday. Currently in Minneapolis for a couple of days. Can't wait to go to the Red Sox/Twins game tomorrow night !! Anyway:
1. Watch food choices and stay as close as possible to calorie limit.
2. Get some kind of exercise in, tough when we have long days driving, but I'll do my best.
Hope everyone has another good week! Have a great evening :flowerforyou:0 -

Hey all really quick check in. Still on vacation. But I wanted to say hi to all the new people and welcome back to the returning people
I'll post goals when I get back home tomorrow.
HUGGS!!!0 -
 Sunday check in before heading to bed.
Good on my water
Good food day/log day.
Back to workouts tomorrow
Hope you all have had a relaxing weekend, getting whatever you needed done.:drinker:0 -
Sunday night check in:
1) logged everything!
2) checkin' in right now
3) better choice for today: really wanted the pasta that step-mom ordered for dinner, but I ate something healthy first, and then after about 20 minutes, I had a SMALL portion so I could taste it without going overboard and managed to stay under calories!
4) sodium only 27 mg over goal! very excited about that one
So that's it for week 2! Hope everyone's Monday goes well, wherever it may take you. To all the back to school folks--Happy first day!0 -
Yesterday I logged in everything, excercised a little, and ate just a tiny bit of my burned off calories late. I could have really excercised instead of just tread in the pool if I wanted to, and if I would've gone to bed at a better hour I wouldn't have been hungry late and stayed to my non-excercised calories. But, all but two goals accomplished.
My concern is: I keep getting the warning of starvation when I don't eat my excercised calories. Should I be concerned?0
