Did the 2.5km ocean swim yesterday. Was horrendously rough - big swells and lots of chop which was not fun! At one point I ended up nearly flipped onto my back it was so rough! Did 38.09 which I was happy with under the conditions. Won my age group and ended up with the gold for the overall series so am happy.

A very unpleasant 2400m today. Went to the gym yesterday for the first time in months and I'm crippled today!

    3x 200 free on 3.30

200 kick as 50 free 50 br 50 back 50 fly on back

    3x 150 as 25 fly 50 back 25 br 50 free on 3.00

200 kick as 50 free 50 br 50 back 50 fly on back

    3x 100 back on 2.30

    150 warmdown

Luckily it was all moderate as I wouldn't have been able to go fast!

    1000m
varying degrees of effort and strokes. Mostly with just arms as am giving my knee a break

400m during circuits class, breathing drills, glide work and beasting of the arms. He tried to beast legs as well, but after 2 x25m kick my knee was niggling so I bowed out of the last 2.

short China trip. Too short for the gym.
And they put me in an apartment that has no public transport to the office. If I didn't have arthritis in my feet this wouldn't be an issue.
3 to 4 miles a day of less than comfortable walking.
    Back home April 30.

3100y today. Not a lot of juice in me. Trail run yesterday was a slog. Water X class about put me over tonight, but I’ve got a volcano to climb in August!

A week of adult swim club and forgot to post/
Strokes and more strokes, distance and mo distance. 1600 to 1800m per session x 3
Blackjack session was no fun. Roll a dice to see what drills you were going to do. Seemed to like 4 = dryland drills.

I did get a T-shirt for a 3rd place in what is called the Alexander Mackenzie Swim ( early explorer of Canadian wilderness ). Basically log your distance's over a 3 month period ( Jan-March ). It's a way of getting people out to the pool during the dark days of winter and fight the seasonal blah's.

Well - I went to the pool atleast..

Picked a really bad time - just as they closed all but one of the lanes (for swim club / lessons erc) and so it was just one widish stretch of the pool for all the kids having a splash, any adults trying to swim or pose. Etc etc. Total dogems.

I gave up after 10 mins and went to the deep end and did aqua-jogging, and 'upright' kicking drills. My legs are pretty tired now. I managed to keep interested for 20 mins or so.,,,

Still - the take out veggie curry I picked up on the way home was very good... that part of the trip worked just fine!

Just checking - are we using the 'woo' as 'yee hah' or as 'rubbish' in this group?! ?!

It has always been a positive group without the snide stuff you get in a lot of the forums - where 'woo' is most nearly always intended as 'rubbish'!

We have a fair few 'woo' s creeling in - but given the above I am determindly reading them all as 'hurrahs'.

Which reminds me - hip hip hurray curly on that 2 miles!

I've always seen it as Woohoo! A very positive cheering for the poster.
After all, we are here to find as well as deliver encouragement.
(The first time I did a 10k swim in a pool, an open water snoot made a sarcastic comment. I ignored the idjut. )
