I know many times we think chit-chat is just a place for fun and should not be taken seriously. Please remember there are real humans behind the computer screens across the globe who read your posts. You might think you're being vague and funny. Someone reading might think you're referring to them personally.

Words matter. Things people post can trigger a person with an eating disorder or thoughts of self-harm. That's not funny. AT ALL. MFP is supposed to be a welcoming, inclusive community. Threads like this might let some folks vent and feel superior, but to outsiders reaching for help, some of the language used can be isolating and heartbreaking. Let's try to do better.
