my name is Lesley. im 30 and have gained over 40lbs in the last year. with a bout with depression, a divorce, and the loss of a job due to the business closing has really done me in. i do have a new job, but i sit down most of my shift, and i work midnites.
i have never really been a small girl. my dads side of the family are all large women and i always said i wouldnt get that way. well its happening and i need some motivation before it gets too out of hand.
i started exercising 2 days ago and im really excited about it. i started going to the YMCA and have been doing cardio for 30min and then working the machines. im so excited to see the results!
im so glad i found this site and to know there are people just like me. thanks in advance to everyone for the motivation.
p.s. if anyone has any suggestions about an eating schedule for my midnite shift i would greatly appreciate it.

Welcome, and good luck to you! You need to fuel your body according to your needs ~Becasue you are working late at night, your food schedule will be vastly different from those who get up early mornings and head to work. I think a lot of people try too hard to make standard "diet plans" work for them, when what they need is flexability , something they can live with for the long run, and be successful in reaching short and long term goals. Don't work for your diet, make it work for you!:smokin:0

I work 3rd shift too. Stay away from the cookies, chips, and candy. Drink lots of water (yes it will make you go to the bathroom). Take fruit, veggies, and some sort of healthy dipping sauce. Walk when you get the chance. Try not to stop anywhere on the way home. I usually eat cereal (post great grains) before I lay down. That way there is something in my stomach but it is not too heave0
